Kevin Bacon’s wife, Kyra Sedgwick, stunned fans with a throwback photo of her famous husband featuring long, flowing hair, a far cry from the cropped blonde style he typically rocks.
The Closer actress took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos of herself and Kevin from the ’90s, with varying hairstyles and fashion choices. “Mom, what were you like in the ’90s?” she captioned the clip. One photo saw Kevin in a striped collared shirt, gray jeans and an oversized blazer, with his long hair flowing down to his shoulders.
Kevin looked like his son, Travis Bacon, in the snap, despite their differing hair colors and the musician’s recent haircut. Fans took to the comment section to share their love for Kyra’s pictures, with one saying: “You haven’t changed a bit!” while another added: “So basically the same.”
“The best couple in Hollywood!” a third said, while another chimed in: “That’s what love looks like.” Kevin has rocked a slew of hairstyles throughout his decades-long career, and revealed to The Times that his biggest hair-spiration was Sting.
“I was obsessed with Sting, so my hair was always trying to emulate whatever was going on with his hair,” he explained. “Even if you look at Footloose – that whole haircut was based on whatever Sting was doing.”
The father of two recently sent the internet into a frenzy when he appeared to have a mullet in a TikTok video with his wife, until it was revealed that the hair at the back of his head was actually Kyra’s.
“You recently gave the internet a bit of a scare because you guys did the 4 Non Blondes, Nicki Minaj challenge, and it seemed for a minute that Kevin might have changed his look drastically, with a mullet no less,” said The View co-host Sara Haines.

“When we were sitting there, I noticed Kyra’s hair and said, ‘Oh, this is too good,’ and I took her hair,” Kevin admitted. Kyra’s throwback with Kevin comes just after the pair collaborated with their two kids, Travis and Sosie Bacon, on the horror-comedy film Family Movie.
Kevin and Kyra married in 1988 and went on to welcome Travis in 1989 and Sosie in 1992. While she is an actress and has starred in hits like Mare of Easttown, Narcos: Mexico and 13 Reasons Why, Travis is the frontman of the metal band CONTRACULT Collective and also works as a composer.
“I don’t think that we were necessarily looking for something to do together,” Kyra said to Entertainment Weekly of the horror flick. “We pitched it to the kids, thinking that they probably wouldn’t be into it,” she added. “I was so nervous. And they actually said yes. I was like, ‘Wait, what? You wanna work with your parents?’ It was pretty monumental.”
“Oh, I had reservations for sure,” Sosie chimed in. “I think we all were concerned that things would come up, we would get into arguments…little tensions and stuff would arise. In this situation, because we’re on set, tensions are already really high.”
“It ended up being the opposite. Like, we had no tension. We were so collaborative. And I don’t think any of us expected that going into it, how easy it was, and how nice everybody was to each other,” she continued.
“It felt extremely collaborative and like everybody’s voices were heard. It was magical,” Travis shared.
