Kevin Bacon might be unable to handle the heat (or chaos) in Kyra Sedgwick’s kitchen!
A new Instagram video from Bacon, 66, revealed how he and his wife like to prepare for dinner — and their different expectations. Bacon’s Monday, Nov. 4 video showed Sedgwick, 59, doing mouthwatering meal prep.
“This is not a recipe, but I want to show you the chaos that happens when we start cooking dinner,” the Footloose actor began. He quickly zoomed in on the broccoli rabe he was cooking on the stove.
He then walked over to Sedgwick’s station on the stove and asked, “What are you doing? What is it? Fish? I don’t know.”
He abruptly turned around and quickly showed some chopped vegetables and shishito peppers while saying, “Whoa, there’s this. There’s this.” He then headed to more chopped green and red peppers. “What’s going on over here?” he wondered.
Then he brought the camera to his face and said, “Whoa, hang on,” before taking the camera to the oven and showing off the cauliflower. “This is what we do,” he said.
The video then cut, and Bacon filmed himself talking to the camera outside, explaining that he “always” tells Sedgwick, “Can we have just two things?”
“She never wants just two things. She wants like eight things,” he said. “I don’t know. It’s just a thing thing.”
In the next clip, Sedgwick comes to the dinner table and explains that the couple will enjoy coconut curry fish, broccoli rabe, cauliflower, rice, and shishito peppers — “just in case there’s not enough.”
Several fans of the couple flocked to the comments and remarked on the couple’s dinner and their sweet dynamic.
“The leftovers at your house must be epic!” one user wrote. “❤️. This is such an awesome, healthy relationship! Love it!” another added.

Bacon’s recent video isn’t the first time the couple have shared what mealtime is like in their house. In February 2023, Bacon exclusively told PEOPLE that he and Sedgwick split responsibilities in the kitchen.
“We’re really a team. I mean, just like we are in life,” the actor said. “I think I probably started out doing a little bit more cooking than she did, but now it’s 50/50. If anything, maybe she cooks a little bit more than me.”
He also admitted he takes a more relaxed approach in the kitchen.
“[Kyra] tends to be someone that is a little bit more by the book,” he says. “I tend to be someone that just throws a bunch of stuff together and improvises. It probably speaks to my personality. It’s very hard for me to follow a recipe to the tee. I’m always adjusting it when I make it.”
