Kelly Ripa opened up about “the one that got away” during her vacation in Greece – but it wasn’t a typical holiday romance. Kelly rather had a love affair with a piece of jewelry.
During a recent episode of Live! With Kelly and Mark, the 55-year-old and her husband discussed the topic of souvenirs and why people regret buying them. “I like to buy souvenirs when I travel,” shared Kelly before noting that her husband is not a fan. The host then revealed that travelers’ biggest souvenir regrets are jewelry and clothing according to a survey.
“Remember that necklace in Greece that I saw, that one- like five years ago?” she asked Mark Consuelos, who did not remember the particular item. “Of course you don’t. You blocked it out. But I remember. I still remember,” said Kelly.
“Still think about it. “It’s the one that got away,” she added of the necklace.

The topic of souvenirs comes days after the couple revealed that their travelling styles aren’t compatible. Kelly explained that her husband is notoriously difficult to travel on vacation with.
© Getty Images“You are fun on the trip, but getting to the trip, and even worse, coming home from the trip. The fun on the trip, it almost makes it all worth it,” she said. “It’s just the insufferable nature of getting to the trip and coming home from the trip that makes me not want to take the trip at all.”
Mark then offered up a solution to the couple’s travel dilemma. “We should fly home separately,” he said, to which Kelly replied, “Oh my gosh, I agree.”
The hosts have been on their annual summer hiatus for one month. Episodes since early August have been prerecorded and feature new conversations between the couple along with a blend of old and new celebrity interviews.

When they are not on vacation, the couple reside in a $27 million townhouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Kelly and Mark purchased the lavish abode 12 years ago and transformed it into a modern living space with notes of French and Old Hollywood glamor inspired by the film Mommie Dearest.
