Sid Wilson is not having a great year. The musician has reportedly been fired from Slipknot just four months after his relationship with Kelly Osbourne ended.
The DJ and keyboard player, 49, is said to have been kicked out of the band on Friday, July 31, after 28 years.
According to TMZ, Sid was informed on Friday afternoon that his services were no longer needed; however, no explanation for the decision has been reported.
HELLO! has contacted representatives for Slipknot and Sid for comment.
The iconic metal band or Sid have yet to release a statement to either confirm or deny the news, but Slipknot guitarist Jim Root has alluded to the story.
In a post on his Instagram Stories, he penned: “Don’t believe every thing you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.”
While Jim didn’t directly mention Sid or the reports, the timing of his message fueled speculation among fans.
Sid joined Slipknot in 1998 as their ninth member, hence his number, 9, shortly before the release of their self-titled debut album the following year.

Sid and Kelly’s breakup
The news comes just four months after his engagement to Kelly ended in March 2026.
The former couple split seven months after he proposed in July 2025, and after more than three years of dating.

Kelly confirmed she had “no clue” what was going to happen. “I was trying to leave and my mum dragged me back to the party and asked me to find her a microphone. I thought she was just gonna thank everyone for coming.”
Sid proposed with an 18k yellow gold ring, which was custom designed to reflect his nickname for Kelly, “Honeybee.”
Kelly and Sid confirmed their relationship in early 2022, when she shared sweet snapshots of them kissing to mark Valentine’s Day.

She and Sid were friends for over two decades before their relationship became romantic after meeting at Ozzfest, the music festival founded by her parents, in 1999.
