Kelly Clarkson Effortlessly Stuns with Cover of Billie Eilish’s Grammy-Nominated ‘Birds of a Feather’ for Kellyoke

Kelly Clarkson and Billie Eilish should stick together.

The Grammy-winning American Idol alum performed a cover of Eilish’s Grammy-nominated hit “Birds of a Feather” for the daily Kellyoke segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show on Jan. 29 — and effortlessly stunned with her signature powerhouse vocals.

Sporting a simple red blouse and pants, Clarkson delivered a beautiful rendition of Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft album track that was quite faithful to the original version, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 last year.

“I don’t know what I’m crying for / I don’t think I could love you more / It might not be long, but baby, I / I’ll love you ’til the day that I die,” sang the NBC talk show host alongside her band.

“Birds of a Feather” is up for three nominations at the 2025 Grammy Awards: song of the year, record of the year and best pop solo performance.

Eilish also received nods for best pop duo/group performance with her remix of Charli xcx’s “Guess,” best dance pop recording with “L’Amour de Ma Vie (Over Now Extended Edit)” and both record of the year and best pop vocal album with Hit Me Hard and Soft.

The 2025 Grammy Awards will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Feb. 2, and the ceremony will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Clarkson has previously sung covers of several Eilish songs for her show’s Kellyoke segment, including “What Was I Made For?,” “Happier Than Ever,” “lovely,” “idontwannabeyouanymore” and “My Future.”

Earlier this month, the “Miss Independent” singer opened up about taking a new path in her music career. “I just now started my own label, and I’m putting out my own stuff,” she said on The Kelly Clarkson Show during a conversation with Keke Palmer. [As of Jan. 30, Clarkson is still listed on Atlantic Records’ online roster.]

“And I’ve had some good teams, like, to work with, but there is nothing like being that 10-year-old again and being excited and nobody saying ‘Oh, you should do this’ and ‘You should do this,'” said Clarkson, who later added: “I feel like I’ve earned it, so I’m excited. I think I’ve earned the moment.”
