Kehlani is making things right with her fans after scrapping two tour dates due to throat issues.
The two-time Grammy winner announced on Thursday that the Camden, New Jersey and Columbia, Maryland stops on her âKehlani World Tourâ â initially slated for Aug. 26 and 27, respectively â were rescheduled for next week following a brief stint in the hospital.
The Camden gig will now go down on Sept. 5 at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, with the Columbia date set for the following night at the Merriweather Post Pavilion.
The âFoldedâ songstress, 31, revealed on Wednesday that she was battling a serious illness that left her âunable to swallow & in so much pain.â She explained that she was instructed not to perform and had no choice but to cancel the upcoming performances.
âBreaks my heart to have to ever do this,â Kehlani said on Instagram. âI do everything Iâm supposed to to ensure my health stays up to par & it still isnât guaranteed. We will pick back up in Virginia [on Aug. 29].â
She claimed she was feeling âcompletely normalâ earlier in the week, but things took a drastic turn out of nowhere, and her condition kept her up at night.
The artist apologized for the change and vowed to work alongside her team to âfind a solution.â
Kehlani opened up about her grueling schedule in an interview with Billboard, where she detailed her strict routine to ensure she stays in top physical and mental shape while managing her bipolar disorder.
âI take medicine,â she told the outlet in the story published on Aug. 20. âI have to go to the gym; itâs not an option. I have to do yoga, take walks.â
âI have to spend time in nature: sit in the park or go wiggle my toes in somebodyâs grass,â she continued. âI have to build a relationship with God. I have to pray.â
In that same interview, she detailed a âsinus surgery from hellâ she underwent after years of difficulty breathing through her nose due to blocked nasal canals.
âIâm still healing,â she said. âBut this will be my first tour using my breath to my full capacity. Iâm really excited to be able to breathe because Iâve been onstage huffing and huffing.â
Kehlani is currently in the middle of 34 stops in North America before taking her show overseas, with even more dates expected to be added at a later time.
Kehlani released her self-titled album in April, with the lead single, âFolded,â spending 17 weeks atop the Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts. The song also earned two Grammys for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance.
