Pierce Brosnan and his wife Keely Shaye Smith are one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples.
The notoriously private pair have been married for 25 years and share two grown-up sons together: Dylan, 29, and Paris, 25. More than two decades of marriage and parenting under their belt makes them more than qualified to give advice on how to make a relationship stand the test of time.
While Pierce tends to keep his family life out of the limelight, the actor once revealed the secret to their long-lasting romance. The Mamma Mia! star previously told Fox News that marriage is all about “solving problems.”
“You know, it’s just solving one problem after the [other], whether it’s the washing machine or how far the finances are going to go or what your dreams are. But, ultimately, we just enjoy each other’s company enormously.”
The actor added that they “love each other and are blessed to have each other as companions in this life.”
“And we’ve created a good life for ourselves of hard work and perseverance of life.”
Pierce said his wife has “given me wings to fly and lets me, you know, gallivant around the world here making movies.”

Pierce and Keely’s enduring love story began in April 1984 when they met at a beach party in Mexico. Sparks flew after Keely, a television journalist at the time who was at the party to interview actor Ted Danson, introduced herself to Pierce.
“How could I have known as I walked around the corner and into your life that my destiny was about to change forever?” Keely wrote in a gushing tribute to mark their 30th anniversary in 2024. “Thanking my lucky stars that I had the courage to introduce myself to you and forever grateful for the connection and family we share 3 decades later,” she added.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2001, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this year on 4 August.

“Before Keely walked down that aisle towards him, he was just being Pierce, interacting with the people he knew in the church,” Pierce’s mother May Carmichael said.
“But when he saw her standing there, he almost crumpled a little bit – you could just see what they mean to each other. It was a wonderful moment.”
