Katy Perry put her best face forward while on her way to outer space — so much so, that her makeup didn’t budge one bit after taking flight.

Perry, 40, embarked on the women-led Blue Origin rocket ride on April 14, accompanied by Lauren Sánchez, Gayle King, Aisha Bowe, Kerianne Flynn and Amanda Nguyen. For the trip, the “Firework” singer had a full face of makeup that defied gravity with the help of one drugstore product, her makeup artist Alexandra French revealed.

“For this look, we wanted to capture something soft, beautiful, and timeless—because this moment will live on forever. Katy envisioned a look that honored the strength and grace of women making history,” French said in a press release.

She continued, “We used all L’Oréal Paris products to create soft brown eyes paired with a beautiful nude lip, soft pink flushed cheeks, and the Lumi Le Glass Highlighter Stick for that radiant, youthful space glow.”

French gave the star a pretty lip using the Colour Riche Lipliner in 635 Worth It Medium and Infallible Matte Resistance Liquid Lipstick in 625 Summer Fling. But before lipstick and liner were applied, she prepped Perry’s lips with the brand’s hydrating Plump Ambition Hyaluron Lip Oil in shade Milky Nu.

As for the product that kept Perry’s look together, French added that she “double set the makeup with the Infallible 3-Second Setting Mist — and it truly held, from liftoff to landing.”

The former American Idol judge has been preparing to go to space for months. Speaking with Elle on April 2 ahead of the trip, Perry said, “Space is going to finally be glam. Let me tell you something. If I could take glam up with me, I would do that. We are going to put the ‘ass’ in astronaut.”

Her hairstyle also got a test run before the historic event. “I skydived in Dubai with similar hair to make sure I would be good — took it for a dry run,” she added.

The trip has been a long time coming for the “E.T.” singer, who told Elle that she has “wanted to go to space for almost 20 years.”
