Gayle King, Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez and More Heading to Space in Historic All-Women Mission
Katy Perry isn’t the only dreamer in her family.
In fact, before deciding to travel on Blue Origin’s upcoming mission to space, the “Firework” singer ran the out of this world idea by her fiancé Orlando Bloom.
“We respect each other so much,” Katy—who shares Daisy Dove, 4, with the actor—said on SiriusXM’s Hits 1The Morning Mash Up March 3. “So we want to get input from each other, and he is also all about the journey.
And Orlando’s support for the mission to space isn’t a surprise to the “Roar” artist, as the 48-year-old—who has been engaged to the singer since 2019 –is always up for exploring something new.
“That’s one thing, I really, really admire about him,” she said. “He’s a seeker.”
While Orlando won’t be joining Katy on this trip, she’ll still be in great company. It was announced last week that Gayle King, Jeff Bezos‘ fiancée Lauren Sánchez—who assembled the team taking flight—as well as former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and film producer Kerianne Flynn will also be going to space this spring.
