Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau publicly address 13-year age gap in relationship

One of the most surprising moments of 2025 was when I Kissed a Girl singer Katy Perry, 41, and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 54, confirmed that they were in a relationship.

The pair got together following Katy’s split from Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom, who she had been together with for nearly a decade. Katy and Justin have a 13-year age difference in their relationship, and on Friday, the pair addressed this in a playful post.

Alongside a carousel of Katy’s recent days, the couple were seen together after taking a biological age test on their phones. Katy’s came out as 33, while her partner clocked in at 43. In the caption, the Dark Horse songstress teased: “How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you were?”

Several of the singer’s fans started quoting the lyrics to her 2017 song, Act my Age, in response to the post, with one commenting: “ALEXA please play ACT MY AGE by queen Katy Perry,” and a second saying: “I won’t act my age. Time is just an invention man has made.”

However, a third was mesmerised by the couple, as they enthused: “Haven’t seen you smile this much before!!”

Other images in Katy’s carousel saw her on a skiing trip with her daughter Daisy, five, while also branding a pair of boots for her young daughter.

Katy and Justin’s relationship

Fans started speculating that the pair were an item back in July when they were pictured on a dinner date, followed by more outings. The lovebirds were eventually photographed in a steamy embrace on board the singer’s yacht, further fueling speculation about their blossoming romance.

The couple confirmed they were dating in December, when Katy shared a photo of herself cuddled up with the politician. The couple were seen embracing during an outdoorsy date, while a short clip saw them in awe of an artistic installation.

However, Katy didn’t address her partner in the post’s caption, only saying: “Tokyo Times on tour and more.”

Justin’s teenage son, Xavier, 18, approves of his father’s relationship with the pop singer, and said in a social media video: “She’s cool, she’s nice. We talked for hours, talking about my music. She gave me advice and next steps for me and stuff.”
