Katie Holmes Ditched Winter Boots in the Dead of Winter for Mary Jane Shoes and Playful Socks

Temperatures are literally freezing in New York City right now, but that didn’t stop Katie Holmes from breaking out the Mary Janes.

In many ways, the Our Town star looked like a classic urban woman on her way to work in winter, double-fisting Starbucks in sunglasses and a long wool coat. But Holmes, 46, switched things up at the ankles, skipping leather boots and sneakers for a pair of white ballet flats worn over black ankle socks. The bold choice worked well with her cropped jeans, giving these reliable warm-weather staples a moment to shine in their offseason.
