The Princess of Wales oozed quiet chic on Thursday as she stepped out in Leicester to celebrate the culture, community, and heritage of the British Indian community after the Hindu festival of Holi.

Kate, 44, opted for a rare bridal white moment, choosing a midi dress that featured a pleated skirt with a girly hem that danced around her legs. The bodice was slim-fitting and featured a crew neckline.

Layering her angelic white look, the princess added a longline coat to create a sense of structure. Meanwhile, for her accessories, the royal slipped on a pair of camel-hued suede pumps with a stiletto heel and carried a clutch in the same neutral tone.

Kate was all smiles in her bridal white look

The wife of Prince William rarely wears an icy white outfit, with the colour often being deemed impractical or only suitable in a wedding context. However, Constance Richardson, a London-based stylist specialising in colour analysis, previously told us that white should not be overlooked as ‘too bridal’.

She explained: “White is clean and modern as it symbolises clarity and confidence, especially in royal dressing. It’s a refined choice that always feels fresh. As well as conveying clarity and confidence, white is traditionally associated with renewal or positivity because of its purity and simplicity. With Holi marking the triumph of good over evil and the beginning of a new season, it feels like a beautifully considered choice for the occasion.”

The last time the royal wore all white was in June 2025 when she joined members of the royal family at the Order of the Garter service at St. George’s Chapel. For this outing, she dazzled in a Self-Portrait dress featuring a belted waist and pleated skirt teamed with a wide-brimmed hat by Sean Barrett.

Adding to the clean and crisp aesthetic, Kate wore a pearl necklace and earrings and carried a white clutch bag. Her light beige suede pumps elongated her frame without distracting from the romantic elegance of the look’s sheer lace hem.

Kate’s busy dress

The outing came after Kate featured in a video speaking fluent Welsh to mark St David’s Day. Shot at Frogmore House on the Windsor Home Park estate, the video saw the princess rock one of the busiest dresses by the Italian-born designer, Alessandra Rich.

The red houndstooth number featured a vintage Chelsea collar with long sleeves, a dropped waist, and a pleated skirt. It was paired with a gold pendant necklace and the ‘Trinity Earrings in White Gold, Yellow Gold & Rose Gold’ earrings by Cartier.

It was the dress that she first wore in 2021 while visiting the V&A museum after it reopened following the Covid lockdown. For this outing, she accessorised with black Jennifer Chamandi heels featuring a teardrop-shaped buckle and the ‘Bayswater’ clutch by Mulberry.
