Princess Kate Middleton privately held a meeting at Windsor Castle shortly before skipping a white-tie diplomatic occasion.
According to the Court Circular, Kate, 42, was present at a meeting on Tuesday, November 19, in support of her and husband Prince William’s eponymous foundation. It was an Early Years Meeting.
Further details have not been shared. William, 42, later stepped out solo at Buckingham Palace for an evening reception in honor of ambassadors Lisa Bandari, Jonathan Hargreaves, Guy Harrison and Gareth Ward as members of the Diplomatic Corps.
Kate has been slowly returning to work after battling an undisclosed form of cancer.
The Princess of Wales confirmed her diagnosis earlier this year, taking a step back from her official duties while she underwent chemotherapy. Kate completed her treatment in September.
“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Kate said in a video statement at the time. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
She continued, “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”
Kate and William share three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
Since completing her chemotherapy treatment, Kate made public appearances at the royals’ annual Remembrance Day events in London. She is also slated to, once again, host a “Together at Christmas” carol service at Westminster Abbey next month.
“Something exciting is coming… 🎄🎵,” a post on her and William’s official Instagram read earlier this month. “The invitations are fresh off the press for this year’s ‘Together At Christmas Carol Service,’ which will be returning to Westminster Abbey on Friday 6 December. We can’t wait for you to join us too! Tune in on @itv and @itvxofficial on Christmas Eve.”
Kate has hosted the “Together at Christmas” concert for several years, which was started to bring British locals together during the holidays and recognize individuals who have gone above and beyond to help those in need.
