Kandi Burruss is sharing insight on her shocking divorce from her husband of 11 years, Todd Tucker.
During an Amazon Live on Monday, the âReal Housewives of Atlantaâ alum, 49, explained that itâs âa pretty crazy timeâ for her right now.
âIâm gonna be very honest with you â I am up and down. Obviously, going through a divorce is definitely not the easiest thing. Sometimes youâre cool, youâre moving, youâre mixing, youâre moving, youâre hanging out with friends,â she said.
âBut then sometimes you have your moments of sadness. And me being the Taurus that I am, I like to keep those moments to myself. When I was on âHousewives,â I really couldnât keep moments to myself when I got upset, so yâall would catch me crying, but real life, my everyday life, I donât really like for those moments to be shared with the world.â
Although she filed the paperwork last Friday, the singer-songwriter disclosed that âthis is something that has been brewing for a while.â
She added, âSo all the times youâve been seeing me online [all smiles] means nothing. Iâve been going through it, child. Iâve been going through it. Life has been life-ing me.â
Burruss said sheâs holding up âas good as [she] can be,â confessing that itâs âhardâ when she reads comments about her situation on social media by people who are âmaking their own narrative of whatâs going on.â
Sheâs admittedly âall over the placeâ these days.
However, the Grammy winner emphasized that she has âno regretsâ about her 14-year relationship with Tucker, 52, with whom she shares âtwo wonderful, beautiful childrenâ: son Ace, 9, and daughter Blaze, 6.
âSometimes things donât work out. It just is what it is,â she added, noting that the former coupleâs kids are âdoing well.â
In fact, Burruss claimed that she and the producer are on the same page about prioritizing their children as they âmake this transitionâ by âkeeping it very friendly.â
âWe are having Thanksgiving [together] this week. ⊠We both were at [Blazeâs recent] birthday party ⊠to support our baby girl, and we are gonna continue to keep that same good energy going for our kids. That is our goal,â she shared.
The musician also informed an inquiring fan that she would not be inviting her outspoken mother, âMama Joyceâ Jones â who has never approved of Tucker â to her âSpeak On Itâ YouTube series because Jones âmight speak too much.â
Reps for Tucker did not immediately respond to Page Sixâs request for comment.
