President Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai Trump is giving a tour of her new apartment for her freshman year at the University of Miami.
“I’m home right now in my apartment, I’m making this little apartment tour,” Kai, 18, said in a YouTube video uploaded on Saturday, September 5. “So come on.”
Kai, who is the daughter of Vanessa Trump and Donald Trump Jr., kicked off the video in the kitchen which she referred to as her “favorite part” of her home because she enjoys eating “a lot.” The kitchen had white counters with steel appliances. She panned the video over to the living room to show off her art, a white couch, flat screen TV and modern fireplace.
“[There’s] my fireplace, which is, like, I think, the coolest part of this,” she said of the fireplace that had LED lighting around it.
Kai’s apartment also has a guest bathroom and an office for the college student. In one room, she had a photo of her and her grandfather, 80, playing golf hung up.
The golfer concluded the tour by showing off her bedroom which included a personal bathroom and walk-in closet.
“This is it, it’s pretty cool. I’m very, very lucky to have this obviously as a freshman … It’s amazing. I love it,” she said. “It’s really nice coming home to no one. And after a long day on the golf course it’s always nice to chill here and do nothing.”
Kai’s apartment tour went viral online and many social media users had opinions about her new living quarters. Several people called out the space as being too lavish for a college student.
“It’s nice to be rich. Your kids and grandkids won’t have to suffer,” one user wrote while another responded, “This is actually a slap in the face for those students who are struggling to pay tuition and holding part time jobs to survive in college and end up with huge [Fannie Mae] loan. Believe me I know 😒😒.”
Others came to Kai’s defense explaining she probably couldn’t live in a traditional dorm because of her secret service detail.
“Normal apartment in Miami. It’s nothing crazy for the granddaughter of a president. I assume they won’t let her stay in dorms because of security,” one person explained while another shared, “Unpopular opinion, but given who she is, she needs that apartment. Better security, private guards etc.”
Kai committed to the golf team at the University of Miami in 2024. Before heading to college, she began her amateur golf career during the LPGA Tour in November 2025. Kai was sponsored as an amateur at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge tournament in Belleair, Florida.
