JoJo Siwa would like to reintroduce herself.
On Wednesday, December 31, Siwa, 22, subtly changed her display name on her TikTok profile to her full moniker, Joelle Siwa. In a video uploaded that same day, Siwa hinted at potential plans for the new year.
“Any plans for 2026?” she wrote alongside the video which was set to her 2016 song “Boomerang.”
In the clip, Siwa sported a ponytail with black bow reminiscent of her signature look when she starred on Dance Moms.
Siwa lipsynced, “I’ma come back like a boomerang.”
In the video’s caption, Siwa teased “what a year it is ahead.”
Following the change, fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts.
“Who is Joelle Siwa,” several users asked, while another quipped, “Ummm joelle siwa? I missed a few chapters.”
Multiple fans also explained that Joelle is Siwa’s full name.
“Her real name is Joelle, Jojo was just a nickname. Are y’all new here?” one user quipped.
While some fans were in disbelief over the change, others were supportive of Siwa.
“She’s changed her account name from jojo to joelle🥺 I love that she’s finally comfortable being herself instead of the persona she hid behind,” one fan wrote, while another gushed, “Joelle feels so authentic, wishing you every happiness in 2026.”
Changing her name is not the only surprising thing Siwa did last year. The dancer shocked fans after she started dating her Celebrity Big Brother costar Chris Hughes. The pair formed a friendship while competing on the U.K. reality series, which turned romantic after the show wrapped.
“What’s so special about Chris and I is that our bond is so genuine that neither of us care what people make of it,” Siwa exclusively told Us Weekly about her connection with Hughes in her May 2025 digital cover story. “Because we know our genuine friendship and we know our bond. It’s a great little special friendship that we have. And I literally send him videos of us dancing all the time.”
Hughes later told Us that things were getting serious between him and Siwa as the duo have had discussions about their future.
“We genuinely speak to each other about this,” Hughes said in July 2025. “When you are absolutely besotted with each other and you are in love with someone, I think it’s fun to look forward to those things.”
The Love Island UK alum continued, “Of course I want to get married. I would never shy away from saying that. I want to marry and one day I want to have children. We both come from extremely loving families and very wholesome families who care … So it would be nice to reciprocate that going forward.”
Last month, Siwa shared a sweet tribute in honor of Hughes’ 33rd birthday.
“This day 33 years ago was a good good day … the day my favorite person was born🤍,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “Happy birthday to my love. I couldn’t imagine a life without you in it anymore, you are the best friend, son, brother, and boyfriend. You make my life better each day that passes. Everyone who knows you is a lucky one. Love you lots and lots more than tater tots.🤍🤍🤍.”
