John Leguizamo is ready to talk about Bruno!

Leguizamo, 64, who voiced the character of Bruno in Disney’s Encanto, told PEOPLE on Wednesday, March 19, during the opening night for Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway that he’d love to see a sequel to the 2021 musical about the Madrigals, a multi-generational family with magical gifts.

“I’m also waiting for an Encanto 2 when all we do is talk about Bruno,” Leguizamo said, alluding to one of the movie’s fan-favorite songs “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”

“I’m calling them every day saying ‘When is No. 2 coming?’ They’re trying to come up with the storyline. They’re working on it,” Leguizamo added.

Disney has not officially announced an Encanto 2.

Encanto — which features songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton and Moana) — debuted in theaters on Nov. 24, 2021.

The film’s magical story is about the extraordinary Madrigal family, who live in the secluded mountains of Colombia in a magical house called Encanto. The magic of the home has blessed every family member with special and unique gifts ranging from super-strength to speaking with animals to healing — except for one person: Mirabel.

When Mirabel (voiced by Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz) discovers the magic surrounding Encanto is in danger, she finds she might be her family’s only hope. The film also includes the voices of María Cecilia Botero, Wilmer Valderrama, Adassa, Diane Guerrero, Mauro Castillo, Angie Cepeda, Jessica Darrow, Rhenzy Feliz and Carolina Gaitan.

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” easily the most viral song from the movie, became the highest-charting Disney song since 1995 after reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track outperformed 2013’s Frozen and its massive hit “Let It Go,” which topped out at No. 5 on the chart.
