John Leguizamo is ready to talk about Bruno!
Leguizamo, 64, who voiced the character of Bruno in Disneyâs Encanto, told PEOPLE on Wednesday, March 19, during the opening night for Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway that heâd love to see a sequel to the 2021 musical about the Madrigals, a multi-generational family with magical gifts.
âIâm also waiting for an Encanto 2 when all we do is talk about Bruno,â Leguizamo said, alluding to one of the movieâs fan-favorite songs âWe Donât Talk About Bruno.â
âIâm calling them every day saying âWhen is No. 2 coming?â Theyâre trying to come up with the storyline. Theyâre working on it,â Leguizamo added.
Disney has not officially announced an Encanto 2.

Encanto â which features songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton and Moana) â debuted in theaters on Nov. 24, 2021.
The filmâs magical story is about the extraordinary Madrigal family, who live in the secluded mountains of Colombia in a magical house called Encanto. The magic of the home has blessed every family member with special and unique gifts ranging from super-strength to speaking with animals to healing â except for one person: Mirabel.
When Mirabel (voiced by Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz) discovers the magic surrounding Encanto is in danger, she finds she might be her familyâs only hope. The film also includes the voices of MarĂa Cecilia Botero, Wilmer Valderrama, Adassa, Diane Guerrero, Mauro Castillo, Angie Cepeda, Jessica Darrow, Rhenzy Feliz and Carolina Gaitan.
âWe Donât Talk About Bruno,â easily the most viral song from the movie, became the highest-charting Disney song since 1995 after reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track outperformed 2013âs Frozen and its massive hit âLet It Go,â which topped out at No. 5 on the chart.
