How the Grinch Stole the Red Carpet.
Jim Carrey and his âHow the Grinch Stole Christmasâ co-star Taylor Momsen reunited 25 years after their iconic holiday movie hit theaters.
Carrey, 63, and Momsen â who portrayed Cindy Lou Who in the November 2000 family comedy â posed for pictures together on the red carpet ahead of this yearâs Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which took place Sunday in Los Angeles.
Photographers captured the pair chatting and hugging as well.
For the outing, Carrey â who famously portrayed the titular Christmas-hating Dr. Seuss character in the beloved film â looked cool in a brown pin-striped trench coat atop a graphic T-shirt, black pants and matching shoes.
He wore his shaggy hair slicked back.
Momsen, for her part, stepped out in a black leather jacket, matching slip dress and platform boots, completing her edgy look with her signature smokey eye.
The 32-year-old gushed over her many favorite memories of working on the set with the legendary comedic actor.
âI just love that he was very protective of me,â the actress-turned-musician â who was just 7 years old when the movie came out â recalled in a red carpet interview with People.
âHe was always very kind. And just the entire experience of filming âGrinchâ and getting to know him so well, even in all the makeup, was just wonderful.â
The âGossip Girlâ star recently admitted that she ânever knew what Jim Carrey looked likeâ when they shot the film, as he was always covered in facial prosthetics and green yak fur.
âI didnât know who Jim was until the premiere, and someone had to point him out to me and go, âThatâs Jim,ââ Momsen revealed on Alex Cooperâs âCall Her Daddyâ podcast last week. âAnd I went, âOh, Jim!ââ
Carreyâs memories are just as fond, as he previously referred to the project as âa lucky thingâ in his life.
âIt really makes me feel good,â he told Extra in December 2024, adding, âHow it happened, my gosh, I donât know, but Iâm so gratified by the idea that thatâs one of the yule logs people go to. ⊠Iâm really happy about it. Itâs a lovely thing.â
