Jessica SimpsonĀ isĀ celebrating seven years of being alcohol-free.

The musician, 44, announced her accomplishment in a touching Instagram post on Friday, Nov. 1, writing, ā€œ7yrs ago today I walked myself into the light of being alcohol free šŸ¤.ā€

The post included a black-and-white image of Simpson looking out of a plane window.

In the comment section, several fans and celebrity friends applauded her milestone, including John Stamos, who wrote, ā€œBravo! šŸ‘.ā€

The mom of three has been open about her health journey. Last year, she marked six years sober with an Instagram Stories post that linked to a Nov. 1, 2021 post with a Nov. 1, 2017 photo of herself. She wrote over the upload, ā€œ6 years sober.ā€

The 2021 Instagram post included a lengthy caption in which she recalled why she decided to get sober.

ā€œI knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity,ā€ the postā€™s caption read. ā€œPersonally, to do this I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction and quite honestly I was exhausted.ā€

ā€œI wanted to feel the pain so I could carry it like a badge of honor. I wanted to live as a leader does and break cycles to advance forward- never looking back with regret and remorse over any choice I have made and would make for the rest of my time here within this beautiful world,ā€ the caption continued.

In August, Simpson addressed claims that she started drinking again after a user commented ā€œSTOP DRINKING!ā€ under an Instagram post in which she was celebrating her son Aceā€™s 11th birthday.

ā€œI havenā€™t wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017 and it has been the best decision Iā€™ve made for myself and for my family. Thank you for your concern, but you have me very misunderstood. Sending love your way,ā€ she replied to the comment.

The multi-hyphenate announced in September that she has teamed up with Gunpowder & Sky to release a documentary about her life.

ā€œI am very humbled to team up with Gunpowder & Sky and Van Toffler, who has been a longtime collaborator and supporter of mine, to make a documentary series that is entirely real, raw and more personal than anything I have done before,ā€ said Simpson in a press release statement. A release date for the documentary has not been announced.
