Jennifer Love Hewitt took a trip down memory lane on Monday with several throwback photos from her time on the set of Heartbreakers, the hit 2001 film co-starring Sigourney Weaver, Ray Liotta, Jason Lee and Gene Hackman.
The comedy followed mother-daughter duo Max (Sigourney) and Page (Jennifer) as con artists who worked to seduce and scam wealthy men. The 47-year-old actress took to Instagram to celebrate the flickâs 25th anniversary, alongside stills from the movie that brought fans back in time.
â25 years! Heartbreakers was one of the most incredible moments in my life! I love that people still watch and celebrate this movie,â she wrote in the caption. âThis film made a forever place in my heart. Happy 25 Heartbreakers!â
âIconic character and an iconic movie,â said one fan, while another added: âI watch this movie at least once a monthâŠso iconic.â Another chimed in: âYou and Sigourney! Perfect match!!!â while a fourth wrote: âIcon!â
Jennifer previously opened up about her time on set to Vulture, revealing that the cast and crew were all incredibly respectful and protective of her due to her young age. âOne thing that really stood out to me when we did the movie is how much people were looking out for me and really making sure that I never felt weird or on display,â she told the publication.
âI remember there were more than a couple of people that were like, âOkay, letâs make sure boobs are in place, and weâre not seeing underwear.'â She added that her stunts were nerve-racking, as she was acting across from such iconic stars like Sigourney and Ray. Â
âIt was terrifying because youâre like, âOh my gosh, Iâm not gonna do this to Sigourney Weaver.â She was great about it, and it was really fun,â Jennifer recalled of a scene where her character attacked Sigourneyâs in a car.

âThe person that I actually hurt the worst in the movie was Ray, because I actually punched him in the face. He was sweet about it. I hadnât really done a lot of that stuff before, and they moved his mark closer in between takes without necessarily telling me,â she added.
While Sigourney and Jennifer proved to be a dynamic duo in the film, the producers initially had other stars in mind for the roles of Max and Page, as the A-lister told Vulture. âAt one point, they talked about Cher and Cameron Diaz, which I think would have been really cool,â she revealed.
âThey talked about Jamie Lee Curtis at one point. I want to say Christina Ricciâs name came up. I think it was Christina Ricci and Anjelica Huston, which also would have been amazing. I still donât know why they settled on me and Sigourney, but Iâm so glad that they did.â
As for whether a sequel could be in the works, Jennifer shared that she would be âopenâ to âexploringâ the option for the sake of her character, Page. âIt would be interesting to see how much Page turned out like her mother,â she said. âThat would be her worst nightmare, but itâs inevitable. Itâd be interesting to see where their relationship is and the effects of being con women for that long period of time.â
âIâm in my 40s, so Iâm not going to do [Pageâs] wardrobe again right now,â she quipped.
