Jennifer Lopez is a family gal. The actressâs little sister, Lynda Lopez, celebrated her daughter Lucieâs 18th birthday, and proved she looked just like her famous aunt.
Lynda, 55, shared three photos on social media on Friday, August 28, paying tribute to Lucie with the caption: âHow did we go from here to 18 in a blink of an eye. Love you so much my Lucie. Happy, happy birthday.â
While two of the snapshots were throwbacks, the third photo showed off Lucieâs Lopez genes. Her soft smile looked just like Jenniferâs. The Office Romance actress added to the well wishes, writing on the Instagram post: âHappy Birthday Lilâ roosterâŠ.â
Who is Lynda Lopez?
Jennifer and her two sisters â Leslie, 59, and Lynda â grew up together in the Bronx. While her older sister Leslie is a school teacher and maintains a private life, her little sister Lynda enjoys the spotlight. Lynda pursued a career in broadcast journalism, becoming a VJ for VH1âs The Daily One after a career in radio broadcasting, and won an Emmy award in 2001 for Outstanding Single Morning News Program as a co-anchor on WB 11 Morning News.
In a 2015 interview with Arianna Huffington, the âOn The Floorâ singer gushed about her strong bond with her younger sister. âWeâve always kind of been very close. Weâve just always kind of been best friends.â
In 2008, Lynda welcomed Lucie with ex-boyfriend Adam Goldfried, just six months after Jennifer welcomed her twins, Max and Oskar Lopez, with Marc Anthony. Becoming mothers at the same time, and the resulting dissolutions of their relationships with the father, brought them closer together.
Jennifer told The Arizona Republic in 2014: âDuring that time [Lynda and I] started talking every day, sometimes staying up until the wee hours of the night discussing how having children would change our lives and what we were going to do.â
Jennifer and Lynda Lopezâs close relationship
The sisters have a tight bond and stick with each other during the hard times of their life. In 2024 after Jennifer separated from ex-husband Ben Affleck, she spent time with Lynda. âI just love and respect her so much. Sheâs a single mom, but not like Iâm a single mom,â she told Cosmopolitan in 2013.
Their bond was really cemented after their parents divorced in the â90s.
âNot being able to see my mom and dad as much as we wanted, we didnât spend the holidays together,â the âWaiting for Tonightâ singer shared with People. âIt became the number one thing that we, in a way, took for granted for so long.â
Lynda and Jenniferâs bond is even stronger in their 50s. In July 2026, the sisters traveled to Paris for Fashion Week, turning heads with color-coordinated looks and enjoying their time in the City of Lights.
