Jennifer Lopez has revealed that her twins, Oskar and Max, have officially moved out of the home and into college dorms, a monumental life moment that has left Jennifer “crying” and “looking at baby pictures.”
In a new video for her beauty brand, JLo Beauty, the singer spoke of the upheaval she has faced this summer as she prepared to become an empty-nester and reminded followers who may also be going through the same stage to “remember it’s a new era of our lives too.”
“My kids are going away to college,” she said in the video, recalling the “great” summer she enjoyed with her children which featured a lot of travel but also wreaked “havoc” on her skin and reminded her to keep the focus on her own
“I think when they go away – and I’m sitting here being an empty nester and crying and thinking about them and looking at baby pictures of them and all that stuff – these routines are the things that are going to keep me working out, doing my skincare routine, caring for myself with the newfound kind of space that’s in your life,” she continued.
“You’re so excited for them to step into this new era of their life, but we have to remember it’s a new era of our lives too, and maybe it’s time to revive some old dreams that you had.”
© InstagramIn the video, Jennifer – who wore a sage green lace cami top and kept her brunette hair loose and straight – was seen applying products from her brand, as she admitted this has been a “scary” time for her, as it’s also a “new beginning” for her as well as the twins.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on May 27, 2026, Jennifer revealed that the pair were not attending the same college.
Oskar – whose name change was confirmed in a March Instagram post shared by their high school – is attending Sarah Lawrence in New York, although Max’s school has remained private.
© Instagram“It’s fine,” she said of their decision to split up. “I want them to be happy. Go where they want to go, do what they want to do.”
“We’re going to pack up their rooms here, and they’re going to take all the things that they want to take to their dorm,” she explained of the big move, admitting that she “absolutely” planned to move them into their dorm rooms, regardless of whether her appearance causes a commotion.
The family of three spent their summer in Europe, with the “On the Floor” singer, 57, looking every inch the proud parent as she was spotted taking photos of her children as they explored the Italian capital, Rome.
Jennifer was every bit the proud mom, frequently stopping to admire the sights with her twins, while a security team discreetly accompanied the family throughout the day.
