My 9 to 5 job revolves around celebrity style, so I’m constantly checking in on who’s wearing what. But one A-Lister, I’m always on high-alert for is Jennifer Garner.
Her outfits are always the realest of the real. For example, she was spotted in Los Angeles earlier this week in a staple-filled outfit that my friends, coworkers, and I would all wear: She paired a polished gray crewneck sweater with some slouchy, wide-leg-like jeans that were cropped and showed off her preppy penny loafers.
She also had a big bag in tow, which she tends to rotate in and out of her looks, along with others like small crossbodies and hands-free saddle bags. The carryall looked like it could, well, carry it all, and was true to the tote trend we’ve been seeing with Katie Holmes, Jennifer Lawrence, and other celebrities.

Coach Hadley Tote Bag In Suede
Picking a tote bag is hard work, mostly because it feels like there’s an infinite amount to choose from. The weaving on this Amazon bag matches Gisele Bündchen’s, while the suede on this one is a lot more like Garner’s textured carryall. One shopper said it “looks great in the photos but even more beautiful in person.”
A second person claimed it’s the “perfect work bag” and that it “easily fits under an airline seat.” It’s also equipped with “plenty of room for essentials and extras like sweaters and chunky scarves.” So you could argue, it’s a good winter-to-spring accessory to have.
Old Navy SoSoft Lite Crewneck Sweater
Winter, spring, or summer, I always keep a sweater on me (or in my big bag). One of my favorite and most-complimented cardigans is from Old Navy, so it was my first stop when searching for button-less crewnecks. This one comes in the brand’s SoSoft material, which is “made lighter for sunnier days,” a.k.a. spring. It’s also on sale, but make sure you get the right size — shoppers say it runs small.
Spanx Cropped Wide-Leg Jeans with Patch Pockets
Garner wears Spanx leggings, so I’m down to try jeans from the brand, too. This wide-leg pair is $59 off, has plenty of space surrounding the legs for a mega-comfortable experience, and has a similar short and springy hem. The front patch pockets are also so fun and fix them up to look like the pair Joanna Gaines wore. And with a sweater like the one above, they’d make a reliable, practical, and good-looking everyday outfit.

Last up, we have loafers, which are a sturdier alternative for ballet flats. These have gold detailing like on Garner’s, plus little bit of height to keep your full-length pants or skirts from dragging — that is, until you switched to cropped pairs.
