Jennifer Garner flashed some stunning hardware on her ring finger on Wednesday, amid the exciting announcement that her smash-hit TV show, The Five Star Weekend, had been picked up for a second season, after becoming the most-watched scripted series on Peacock ever.
The actress took to Instagram to share the happy news, posting a photo of her shocked face with her hands over her mouth, and a prominent diamond ring on her left hand.
Jenniferâs big news
She then added a photo of her co-star, DâArcy Carden, holding up two fingers on each hand with a smile to represent season two.Â
Jennifer also included photos of her castmates celebrating the good news, and a headline that confirmed the announcement.
Friends and fans rushed to the comment section to share in her joy, with actress Rita Wilson writing: âCongratulations!!!!!!!!â alongside several heart emojis, and journalist Natalie Morales adding: âLoved season one and didnât want these friends to end! Glad thereâs another season.â
âIt canât get here fast enough,â said a fan, while another chimed in: âOMGGGGG!!!! Been waiting for this announcement!!â
Female friendships
The Five Star Weekend co-stars DâArcy Carden, Gemma Chan, Regina Hall and ChloĂ« Sevigny, and follows a food influencer who hosts four friends from various chapters of her life for a weekend away in Nantucket following the death of her husband.
The series was adapted from Elin Hilderbrandâs 2023 novel, and the story meant a great deal to Jennifer, who has often spoken of the importance of her friendships.
âI hope that [women] watch it with their girlfriends,â Jennifer told Entertainment Weekly.Â
âI hope they feel how much the five of us love them, and get them, and get how much female friendship means to all of us. I wouldnât be aliveâŠWell, thatâs too strong of a statement. I would hopefully be alive. But I would not be me without my ladies.â
Engagement rumorsââââ
Another pillar of support for Jennifer is her longtime love, John Miller, whom she was first linked to in 2018, three years after announcing her split from her husband, Ben Affleck.
The couple are incredibly private, and were spotted together for the first time in 2026 on August 2 as they stepped out for a date night. Jennifer looked laid back as she sported a gray sweater and white jeans paired with white sneakers, while her partner wore a green button-down shirt and blue jeans with brown shoes.
Engagement rumors ran rife in December 2024 when Jennifer was spotted wearing a new ring on her left hand, but the pair have never confirmed nor denied the news.
Tying the knot
The 13 Going On 30 star previously shared that she had no immediate plans to marry again, and was focused on raising her three children, Violet, Fin and Samuel. âI donât know. Iâm so far from it,â she told People.Â
âAnd I donât know that marriage would need to be a partâŠI mean, I definitely donât think that Iâll be single forever. But this is not the time. I donât need to complicate it; Iâm good.â Jennifer was married to Ben from 2005 to 2015, and to Felicity star Scott Foley from 2000 to 2003. She shares her three kids with Ben.
