Jennifer Aniston subtly paid tribute to her most famous on-screen character, Rachel Green, on Monday night.
Aniston wore a black vintage Ralph Lauren gown for the 2025 Elle Women in Hollywood Event, where she was honored amongst a bevy of Hollywood A-listers.
The look evoked sleek â90s vibes, with a high crossed neckline, body-skimming silhouette, and all-over shimmer.
Aniston kept her jewelry simple, wearing a thin bracelet and a few coordinated rings.
The gown was not only an apt choice, as Ralph Lauren was one of the sponsors of the evening, but it also gave a nod to Green, who famously worked at Ralph Lauren headquarters for much of the duration of âFriends.â
The American designer, who opened up his womenswear division in 1971, has built a brand on timeless elegance. The actressâ selection of a dress from the archives, which looks just as current as anything walking the runways today, is further evidence that the best designs never go out of style.
Aniston took to the stage to speak about her long career thus far, sharing, âThatâs what keeps me showing up every day. Itâs the friendships and the shared belief that storytelling still matters. That baring our souls and creators still matters, something that AI will never be able to duplicate, no matter how âsmartâ it gets.â
Other honorees from the evening included Jessie Buckley, Teyana Taylor, Rose Byrne, Renate Reinsve, Chase Infiniti, Emily Blunt, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku and Hailee Steinfeld. âEach was recognized for their artistry, ambition, and influence,â shared Elle magazine in a press release.
The 56-year-old has just recently made her relationship with boyfriend Jim Curtis Instagram official, telling Elle, âHeâs very special, very normal, and very kind.â
For an evening that recognized the work that Aniston and others have done for Hollywood, itâs a sweet gesture that her chosen look quietly celebrates the role that made her a household name.
