It’s quite the day over at Jenna Bush Hager‘s house.
On Monday, April 13, the TODAY anchor’s daughter Mila rang in her golden birthday, and officially became a teenager.
In addition to the 13-year-old, the former first daughter, who has been married to Henry Hager since 2008, is also a mom to daughter Poppy, nine, and son Hal, six.
On the Monday installment of TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle, both Jenna and co-host Sheinelle Jones were quick to commemorate Mila’s special day, with Sheinelle exclaiming: “Guess what! You officially have a teenager!” as Jenna admitted that she “can’t believe it.”
A photo of Jenna and Mila then appeared on the screen, and Sheinelle noted: “But wait, you’re teenager looks like she’s 17!” with Jenna adding: “That little person turns 13 years old today which I cannot believe.”
Jenna went on to recall how Mila arrived Earthside almost month earlier than her due date, with Jenna’s water breaking right as her baby shower took place.
© Instagram“Everyone freaked out,” she remembered, revealing: “There was one man who was the caterer, he threw a paper towel roll and walked out the door.”
“Everybody had different reactions,” she further shared. My sister was springing into action, my cousin was springing into action. But people that were pregnant there started crying, out of fear. They were disgusted.”
The two co-stars then reflected on having teenagers, with Sheinelle, who is a mom to son Kayin, 16, and twins Clara and Uche, 13, sharing: “My twins are 13. I’m a few months in, it is … they become their own people.”

© InstagramJenna also commemorated Mila’s birthday over on Instagram, first sharing a photo of her bundled up shortly after labor, and writing: “How was this day — that made me a mama — 13 years ago???”
She then shared a video of her and Henry playing with their firstborn, followed by the same recent photo shared on the TODAY broadcast of Jenna and Mila, over which she endearingly wrote: “Happiest birthday to my dream girl.”
