Her finger is broken — not her marriage.
Jenna Bush Hager shut down speculation that her marriage to Henry Chase Hager was on the rocks after she was spotted without her wedding ring.
Jenna addressed divorce rumors — chalking up her naked finger to “a bad wedding ring situation” due to an injury — on Wednesday’s episode of “Today with Jenna & Friends.”
“I’m not wearing [a wedding ring] now because I broke my finger,” she explained, adding, “But don’t worry, I’ve seen some of the comments — Henry and I are still very happily married.”
This isn’t the only wedding ring incident Jenna has suffered over the years. The talk show host, 43, recalled losing a sapphire that belonged to her husband’s grandmother.
“Once Savannah Guthrie had a 50th birthday and sometimes for my best friends’ birthdays, I feel like I really have to give it my all. I gave it my all,” Jenna said. “[I was] one of the last people standing.”
Jenna said that Henry was getting “kind of grumpy” and left the party before her but that she decided to stay with her friends.
“He went to bed a little earlier, sort of like, ‘Aren’t you coming with me?’ and I’m like, ‘No, I’m not coming with you!’” she said. “I woke up the next morning, I look down at my engagement ring and one of the stones was gone.”
Jenna said she wasn’t sure how to break the news to Henry because she was “already a little bit on thin ice” due to her “wild behavior” the night before.
“So I looked down and I’m like, ‘Oh no, do I tell him this now or do I wait?’” she said. “I went ahead and said, ‘Honey, you know, I know I lost a little bit of dignity last night. I also lost your grandmother’s sapphire.’”
Fortunately, Henry was “okay” because, according to his wife, he’s a “tolerant person.”
“My mom calls him a ‘saint,’ which is really just saying that I’m difficult to be with,” Jenna joked of her mother, former first lady Laura Bush.
Sadly, Jenna said that she was never able to find the missing family heirloom.
Jenna and Henry got married at her family’s luxurious lakeside ranch in Texas in May 2008.
The couple are parents to three kids: daughters Mila, 11, and Poppy, 9, and son Hal, 5.
