Jelly Roll and his wife Bunnie Xo officially finalized their divorce in July 2026, after being married for almost a decade.
The New York Times bestselling author spoke candidly about her newly single era during her visit to the Today with Jenna and Sheinelle on August 20.
The star revealed that she has been “thriving” without a relationship and she’s just getting started.
Jenna Bush Hager commented: “You’re having this incredible year with your memoir and your podcast is doing exceptionally well, and you’ve also had a hard year.” The journalist inquired: “How are you doing in this moment?”
Bunnie Xo joked: “Ladies, they should have never let me back out in the streets because. I love it here, alright? I love it here and I’m never going back.”
The star candidly explained: “I feel like us as women, we put ourselves aside so much for partners, friends, kids and it’s like we don’t pour into ourselves, and sometimes you need to be selfish and you need to pour into yourself.”
She continued: “I just hope that my journey can show people: ‘Hey, it doesn’t matter how hard of a situation you’re going through, you’re gonna get through that. You’re gonna rise up and you’re gonna be an even better version of yourself.'”
Sheinelle Jones inquired about the difficulty pertaining to Bunnie Xo dealing with the divorce publicly.

I’m just always trying to get to the finish line and I know when something like that, that’s deeply personal happens, it’s beautifully tragic, but at the same time, there’s always a silver lining and there’s always something better to look forward to.”
Jenna commented on Bunnie Xo having a “baddie bunnie summer,” to which the podcaster replied: “I got my smile back and my smile is to my ears. I’m having the freaking time of my life and I’m just thriving. I never thought that it would turn out to be such a blessing, but it’s such a blessing and I’m thankful.”

Bonnie went through the IVF journey and she still dreams of becoming a mother in the future.
She expressed: “I definitely still want to have a baby and that’s gonna one of the newest chapters of my next book and I can’t wait for you guys to read about it because it has been one [expletive] of a journey.”
As for whether people on social media have made a move on her through direct messages since her divorce was announced and the answer was a resounding yes.
Bunnie Xo joked: “It’s like a freaking smorgasbord. It’s a boy buffet,” she revealed while laughing.

It’s a lot…I love reading everybody’s DMs. Some of these pickup lines are amazing…There’s so many. Everybody has just been so sweet and so loving.”
She gushed: “I think my favorite ones are the ones where everyone’s telling me how inspired they are [and] how I’ve handled this journey.”
Bunnie Xo concluded: “I hope they get to take bits and pieces of my mistakes and my journey and apply it to their life.”
