Jason Kelce’s 2025 Super Bowl Outfit Gives Professor-Core Vibes — Then There’s the Mardi Gras Beads

After grappling with how to show his support for both his brother and former team at the Super Bowl this year, Jason Kelce landed on a creative — and stylish — solution.

The retired NFL star, 37, arrived at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome on Sunday, Feb. 9 to cheer on both his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, as well as his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, in a professor-core ensemble.

Jason appeared as a commentator alongside Randy Moss and Adam Schefter, wearing a multi-colored houndstooth vest and brown wool herringbone jacket. True to his playful style, the former athlete added some Margi Gras beads around his neck.

Jason’s appearance is very on-brand for the father of four, who, despite being known for his zany ensembles — Super Bowl 2024, anyone? — has said he does not particularly care about his game-day style. (In his fashion-forward brother’s words, the retired athlete is “like, the neanderthal that wears flip flops in the winter and doesn’t even care what he looks like.”)

The former Eagle’s appearance at football’s biggest night also comes after he and Travis, 35, butted heads over his Super Bowl LIX fashion conundrum on their podcast, New Heights.

After Travis proposed that his brother wear a “mom jacket” (a reference to the custom Eagles-Chiefs split gear the brothers’ mom, Donna Kelce, has sported in support of both boys) Jason said he “can’t” wear red to the championship game this year — even if it’s just half a jersey’s worth.

“I can’t wear Kansas City red for this one, Trav,” the former Eagles center told his brother in the Jan. 29 New Heights episode. “I can’t wear red. I can’t wear it. I can’t bring myself to it.”

“What about, like, Bearcat red?” Travis fired back, referencing the siblings’ college team, the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.

The former Eagle responded by saying that’s what his wife, Kylie Kelce, typically goes for. “But,” he admitted, “I don’t even think she’s gonna be doing that this time around.”

Jason’s Super Bowl style solution, at least as proposed on the podcast? A shirt that isn’t red or Eagles green — and still has a nod to his brother. “I’m gonna wear my New Heights Big Yeti shirt, my yellow one, I’ll wear that,” the retired center offered.

Travis, meanwhile, suggested that he could wear one of their new New Heights merch pieces, but in Eagles green instead — a proposal Jason seemed fond of.

“I will always be an Eagle, first and foremost,” the former NFL star (who previously faced off with Travis and the Chiefs in the 2023 Super Bowl, nicknamed “Kelce Bowl”) said later in the podcast.

But, Jason added, “I’ll also root for Travis to have a good game because he’s my brother.”

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will face off in the 2025 Super Bowl, airing on Fox on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
