Jason Kelce took a trip down memory lane on Wednesday, and he didn’t like what he saw.
The former Philadelphia Eagles center looked unrecognizable without his signature bushy beard in a throwback photo from his college football days in honor of his upcoming induction into the University of Cincinnati’s Hall of Fame.
Speaking to his brother and co-host, Travis Kelce, on their New Heights podcast, Jason admitted that he “hated” the way he looked clean-shaven.
“I just hate the way my face looks without a beard,” he said while looking at photos of the Bearcats’ football team huddled up during a game.
“Is that what I look like when I’m yelling? Is that how it always looks?” he continued.
Jason admitted it wasn’t just his lack of facial hair that he had an issue with. “That was back when I used to just take my razor, and that’s how I trim my eyebrows,” he said.
“I would just go straight across my eyebrows. So they ended up being super thin and not having any shape.”
One person who will be “freaked out” seeing a beardless Jason is his wife, Kylie Kelce, who recently said seeing him without his beard would “blow my mind.”
“That would absolutely freak me out,” she said on her Not Gonna Lie podcast last month. “I’ve never met his chin; I’ve never seen his chin in person. We’ve never met.”
She added: “Rumor has it that there’s a little bit of the butt chin under there. I don’t know, though; I’ve never met it. That’d be kind of fun to find out.”
Kylie also admitted that the couple’s children, Wyatt, six, Elliotte, five, Bennett, three, and Finnley, 17 months, wouldn’t be happy with a beardless Jason.
“It would blow their minds,” she exclaimed. “The girls would freak out. I think that at least one of them would cry. I’m banking on three of them, but at least one, for sure.”
Jason isn’t the only Kelce to regret their college grooming habits, as Travis admitted he had attempted to shave his chest.
“It grew back so fast,” the Kansas City Chiefs star said, later adding: “I tried to wax it after that.”
That experience didn’t go well for Travis, and he was left with a “bloody and patchy” chest. “So I just gave up,” he confessed.
Travis talks wedding
Meanwhile, Travis’ podcast appearance marked his first as a married man after he and Taylor Swift tied the knot at NYC’s Madison Square Garden on July 3.
Speaking about their wedding day, Travis said: “Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up. From the vows, to just seeing everyone, to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening. And hearing that be relayed through everybody’s stories of the night.”
He added: “It was just so magical, man, and I wish it could’ve lasted even longer than it did,” noting that once the drinks “stopped being served, everyone just moseyed out.”
