Jane Seymour just celebrated her 74th birthday — but says no matter how old she gets, she’s still not tempted to mess with her face.

“Every once in a while, I think about it,” she tells PEOPLE of plastic surgery. “But because I’m also a sculptor, I know that if you change or alter one thing on a face and then you look at it from a different angle, you need to alter another thing to even it up, then another and another and then before you know it, you’re not you anymore.”

Seymour maintains that she doesn’t pass judgement on friends who go under the knife, but knows it would be tough in her profession to drastically change her look. “It’s a choice for me,” she says.

She adds that if she needs to look younger for a role, she relies on wigs.

“If I’m doing a role and don’t want me frown lines showing, I’ll wear bangs,” she says. “Or if I need to play younger in a movie, it’s very simple — I just put a wig on, and it lifts your whole face. But if I need to play a woman in her late 60s, I’m going to need every facial muscle I have.”

Seymour is, however, very regimented with her diet and body-care routines. She’s been a massive fan of Crepe Erase, the skincare line she’s been the brand ambassador of for more than 10 years, and is now working with products under the brand’s Body Firm umbrella, including its Youthful Essence line of supplements.

“When I first started working with Crepe Erase, I didn’t think a cream was going to do anything,” she says with a laugh. “I was like, ‘that’s a tall-tale!’ But what happened is immediately after using it, people began saying, ‘Oh Jane, you’re using a laser, or you’ve succumbed to having these major treatments!’ And I went, no, I’m just using this cream called crepe erase, and anyway, I realized it really did work. So I’ve been using that religiously for the last 10 years.”

Now, she’s incorporating the vitamins into her routine which have also boosted how she feels about her appearance.

“You have to be healthy from the inside out, which is why we are making it simple for everyone now with the vitamins,” Seymour says, of staying vibrant. “If you’re not healthy, your skin won’t radiate. So I’m very excited because we are coming out with something that bridges the nutritional gap with vitamins and minerals and phytonutrients and superfood with kale, blueberries, blood oranges. I wanted something simple that you could just put in your water in the morning and have everything that you need for the day so that you could actually be healthy from the inside out.”

Seymour adds that the most important part of any wellness routine is tailoring it to your own needs.

“I mean, you can buff and peel and do lasers, but I haven’t done any of that either. If it works for you, do it,” she says. “I’m just scared to do anything permanent. I’m hoping to continue to age gracefully. I’m not going to say never, but I think if I’ve waited to the age of 74 and still haven’t had work done, I’m not entirely sure that I’d suddenly need to turn myself into a 30-year-old.”
