Jana Kramer and Allan Russell are not on the same page when it comes to her acting career.
On the Dec. 8 episode of Kramer’s iHeart podcast, Whine Down, she and Russell discussed a recent episode of Yellowstone, in which Wes Bentley and Dawn Olivieri’s characters had a sex scene. Without hesitation, the former soccer player told his actress wife she could never take a role that required her to get intimate with someone else.
“There’s not part of me that will ever, ever, ever allow that, ever, for a man to be that close to you like that,” he said. “Never.”
“What if Taylor Sheridan has me audition and I book a role where I have to have that scene?” Kramer, 41, responded, referring toYellowstone’s creator.
“Then I will go Tommy Lee on everyone,” Russell, 43, exclaimed. “I will be phoning the producers and threatening the producers, ‘You need to change that scene. Well, this for the good of your health, you need to change this scene.’”
Kramer continued to push the Scottish native, who she married in July, asking if he would tell her to turn down any role — no matter how big — because of an intimate scene.
“No. I wouldn’t let you do that scene. No,” he insisted. “That’s not good for a marriage, that type of role. It’s not. Especially [as] a man who’s not in the acting world, it’s difficult, therefore that’s my opinion based on, I’m not in that world. You can keep smiling and laughing if you want. But let’s flip it. Let’s flip it because we always do that.”
When Russell wondered how Kramer would feel if he was an actor in the same shoes, she said that she didn’t think there was anything inappropriate about it.
“I’ve dated actors before that have had to do sex scenes,” she said. “It’s literally the most uncomfortable thing ever. Like when I’m giving Turtle a hand job on Entourage, it’s so uncomfortable. I’m literally taking my hand and rubbing his leg. The motion of it — it’s the most uncomfortable — it’s not sexy.”
Kramer went on to name other projects she worked on where she had to film intimate moments with her costars including Stephen Colletti in One Tree Hill and Austin Nichols in Gaslit By My Husband.
“I don’t care. I don’t care,” Russell claimed. “If you’re locking eyes with another man and you’re f—ing naked…”
“You’re never fully naked though,” Kramer interrupted and he countered, “You can see everything.”
“I was in my lingerie for the Gaslit one,” she added.
“You don’t need to remind me,” Russell said. “Stop bringing these things up.”

The couple went back and forth for several more minutes before Kramer declared: “I literally can’t win.”
“No, you can’t win, so don’t try,” Russell responded with a chuckle.
