Jamie Lee Curtis is doing away with negativity for the new year.
On Friday, Jan. 3, the Freaky Friday star, 66, revealed her ins and outs for 2025 while speaking to PEOPLE at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards in California.
When asked what she was leaving behind in 2024, Curtis replied, âdisappointment.â
She added that itâs been âa hard year for many people.â However, she noted that she was looking to a brighter future and manifesting âhopeâ in 2025.
In 2024, the Halloween star received an honorary degree from the American Film Institute and even deleted her account on X (formerly Twitter). She also starred in The Last Showgirl, alongside Pamela Anderson, and produced and starred in The Sticky, a heist show about a Canadian syrup farmer who assembles a team to take on the countryâs multi-million dollar maple syrup industry.
Curtis also has quite a bit to look forward to in the new year. She previously announced that she and Lindsay Lohan would be returning for Freakier Friday, a sequel to the 2003 comedy Freaky Friday, which is set to hit theaters in August.

The pair revealed that the filming for the sequel kicked off in June at Walt Disney Studios with an Instagram post showing them holding hands on the set. She also shared how emotional she got when the filming was over, showing a photo on Instagram of herself crying in the mirror.
âMommy was up way effing past her bedtime. No filter. Little sleep. Lots of laughs and a little blood, much sweat and copious tears,â she wrote alongside the photo.
âWe made it for all of you,â said Curtis of the film in her post, âand I canât wait for you to see it and Iâm thrilled to have been reunited with @lindsaylohan and get to watch new talents form and expand.âÂ
During an appearance on Today in December, she also teased what people can expect from the new sequel. According to Entertainment Weekly, it will be centered on Lohan and Curtisâ characters switching bodies with two teenage girls.
âWe couldnât have made this movie until now, because Lindsay [Lohan] had to be old enough to have a 15 year old,â Curtis said during an appearance on Today. âShe has a 15-year-old, so Iâm now a grandma.âÂ
She added that despite the new story, the film would be filled with lots of ânostalgiaâ that longtime Freaky Friday fans are hoping to see.
âAnd it checks every box that you would want,â the actress said. âIt has the nostalgia of the original movie with Pink Slip and Chad Michael Murray.â
