Ivanka Trump showcased her incredible physique as she hit the waves during her latest family getaway in Costa Rica.
The 44-year-old looked seriously toned as she took to the water for a surfing session on Sunday, August 23, wearing a fitted white long-sleeved surf top teamed with high-waisted black bikini bottoms.
With her blonde hair swept back into a practical braid, the mom-of-three appeared completely at ease as she balanced on a longboard, bending her knees and extending her arms as she navigated the waves.
And while Ivankaâs latest appearance certainly highlighted the results of her dedicated fitness regime, surfing isnât simply a vacation pastime for the former First Daughter.
She has been working on her skills in Costa Rica for several years and previously took lessons at Take Off Surf School near Playa Hermosa and Santa Teresa. The schoolâs owner, JesĂșs Zabala, previously described Ivanka as âa good surferâ with âa very good attitude.â
Her latest trip appears to have been another family affair. Ivanka, who shares Arabella, 15, Joseph, 12, and Theodore, ten, with husband Jared Kushner, has been enjoying time in the Central American country with her family, sharing glimpses of their adventures on social media.
Ivanka Trumpâs body transformation
Ivankaâs athletic figure comes after she revealed that she completely overhauled the way she exercises after moving to Miami.
Having previously relied heavily on cardio, yoga and Pilates, Ivanka switched her focus to weightlifting and resistance training, a change she said had been âtransformativeâ for her body.
âIt has been transformative in helping me build muscle and shift my body composition in ways I hadnât imagined,â she explained when detailing her new routine.
Rather than following complicated workouts, Ivanka said she concentrates on basic strength exercises including squats, deadlifts, hinges, pushes and pulls.
âI believe in a strength training approach built on foundational, time-tested, and simple movements,â she explained, adding that the exercises are designed to develop âfunctional strength for life.â
Ivanka also revealed that she prioritizes technique before increasing the weight she lifts and incorporates mobility work to maintain her range of motion.
Her routine typically includes strength training three to four times each week, alongside occasional short HIIT sessions to work on her cardiovascular fitness.
The diet change that made the difference
But Ivanka has said that lifting weights was only part of the equation. One of the biggest changes she made was dramatically increasing the amount of protein she eats, revealing that she now aims for between 30 and 50 grams at each meal.
âIt works⊠Iâve never been stronger!â she said. During an appearance on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, Ivanka went further, explaining that she initially wasnât seeing the physical changes she expected from strength training because she wasnât eating enough protein.
It was only when she combined increased protein with resistance training that she began noticing a significant difference in her body and health. âI have seen such a transformation in terms of my health,â she said, explaining that it was âthe pairing of protein and resistance training and weightliftingâ that made the difference.
The businesswoman also revealed that she doesnât necessarily love lifting weights, despite the results. Instead, she gravitates naturally towards walking, Pilates, yoga and sports, while meditation is another important part of her daily self-care routine.
Why surfing is part of Ivankaâs fitness routine
That perhaps explains why surfing has become such a natural addition to Ivankaâs active lifestyle.
Despite her new dedication to weights, she has made a point of keeping movement she genuinely enjoys in her week, particularly activities she can do outdoors with her family.
âI still enjoy a weekly yoga session and love spending time outdoors with my kids and friends playing sports,â she previously said, listing surfing, padel tennis, ocean swimming, wakesurfing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, hiking, walking and golf among her favorites.
Her interest in Brazilian jiu-jitsu has also given her a different perspective on wellbeing. Speaking to Lex Fridman, Ivanka discussed the strong connection she sees between physical and mental health through the martial art, describing its philosophy as being about âthe mind, the body, the soul.â
In February 2025, she summed up her evolving approach to wellbeing with a gym photograph and a simple mantra: âStrong body / Strong mind!â
And despite now following a more structured strength program, Ivanka has stressed that she doesnât believe there is a single perfect exercise regime. âWhat works is what you will actually do consistently,â she said.
