Jordan Wright, who appeared in the 2018 series of The Only Way Is Essex, has sadly died at the age of 33 after his body was discovered in a drainage ditch in Thailand.

The reality TV star’s body was reportedly discovered by a Burmese worker who was harvesting vegetables. Jordan was said to be wearing a grey shirt and black trousers, and officials believed that he had laid there for a couple of days before being found. CCTV footage reportedly showed the late star running around erratically before his death.

Authorities are awaiting an autopsy to determine his exact cause of death, but there hadn’t been any sign of forced entry at his hotel room, which was a 20-minute walk away from where his body was discovered.

“The case remains under investigation while we wait for the official autopsy results,” Police Lieutenant Colonel Suthirak Chuthong of the Choeng Thale Police Station said. CCTV footage related to the incident is part of the case file and cannot be released at this stage.

“We cannot confirm the exact cause of death until the autopsy results are released. If relatives or friends have concerns about the cause of death, they can contact the police station.”

The star’s final Instagram post featured several highlights of his time in Phuket, including him relaxing in a gorgeous hot tub. He enthused: “I’m Home. FT The best bath I’ve ever taken.”

Tributes

Tributes have been pouring in for the late star. DJ Jodie Burling said: “Oh Jord, gone way too soon. Rest in peace darling,” while influencer Scarlett Ellis added: “Such a lovely person gone far too soon. Rest peacefully Jordan.”

Ripped Gym Basildon, where the personal trainer previously trained, also penned a tribute, commenting: “Can’t believe what we are hearing. Oh Jord, will cherish our times. Krystle & Alper,” and DJ Twee shared: “Rest in paradise. Heartbroken to lose such a special soul and beautiful friend. See you on the other side…”

Jordan, who had trained as a firefighter before appearing on the show, explained: “I had [an] enjoyable career for 6 years before I resigned to pursue a life in the limelight of reality tv. A choice that left me hugely unfulfilled, stagnant & lost. People think it’s glitz & glamour but the truth is very far from public perception, I really struggled.

“When I left I lost a huge part of myself and my sense of purpose. Today I received the news that I have a role as a firefighter and I can’t tell you how much this means to me. To have back what I was put on this earth to do which is help others & my community.”
