Isla Fisher has remained relatively quiet about her dating life since her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen, but she recently shared a rare insight.
The 50-year-old actress admitted that she âliked somebody,â but sadly their relationship didnât go anywhere because he gave her the âick.â
In a clip shared on the Overheard Happy Hour TikTok account, Isla revealed how her unnamed suitorâs attempts to woo her were thwarted by his dog.
âI have a dating ick that happened recently,â she recalled on Tuesday, September 1. âI liked somebody. His dog ran away, and he chased his dog.
âBut instead of chasing upright, he ran low with his hands outstretched â like a cartoon.â
Isla admitted that his reaction was enough to turn her off completely. âAnd the ick was growing and growing,â she continued. âBy the time he caught the dog, he had lost the [expletive].â
Isla and Sachaâs divorce
Isla and Sacha were married for almost 14 years and shocked fans when they announced in 2024 that they had quietly separated the previous year.
The former couple shared a joint statement on their Instagram Stories, announcing their split on April 5, 2024, alongside a photo of them cuddling in tennis outfits.
The statement read: âAfter a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage.Â
âWe have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change, we forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our familyâs wish for privacy.âÂ
14 months after they announced their split, Isla and Sacha confirmed they had finalized their reported $75 million divorce,
âOur divorce has now been finalised,â they said in a joint message to their Instagram Stories in June 2025.
âWe are proud of all weâve achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children. We ask for the media to continue to respect our childrenâs privacy.â
Co-parenting perks
In the wake of their split, Isla and Sacha now co-parent their three children, which has allowed the actress to return to work after what she called a parental âpower pause,â during which she dedicated more time to raising their kids than working on film sets.
âItâs amazing to me that at this point in my life Iâve got this opportunity, in a positive way, to reinvent what the last act of my life is now from the ground up,â she told The Australian last October.
Isla admitted that she didnât fall out of love with acting; she just wanted to be more present for her kids, and fortunately, she can now do both.
âFor most parents, we focus on our kids, and itâs so divine and magical and so absorbing, but now I have some time where the kids arenât with me, so I get some time to think about what the future might hold for me,â she explained.
Islaâs most recent film, Spa Weekend, was released last month. She stars alongside Anna Faris, Leslie Mann, and Michelle Buteau.
