Isabella Strahan’s aggressive brain tumor nearly took her life.
After the 20-year-old—who is daughter to Michael Strahan and Jean Muggli—shared she was officially cancer-free in June, her doctor David Ashley detailed how close of a call her initial diagnosis in October 2023 had been.
“Untreated, she would have been dead within the next few weeks, I’ve no doubt,” the doctor explained to People in an article published Jan. 23. “I’ve been impressed by her resilience.”
Indeed the director of Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University explained that Isabella’s brain tumor had been “somewhere between the size of a golf ball and a tennis ball.”
And while the University of Southern student—who is twin sister to Sophia Strahan, 20—is in remission, she emphasized that she isn’t spending her time worrying about any potential relapse.
“Obviously you can’t predict what can happen, and that is a little scary,” she noted to People in an article published Jan. 22. “But I don’t think you can solely live in fear. I think I should live every day. Take every opportunity.”
