Newly engaged couple Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce plan to celebrate the upcoming holiday season in a stress-free way.
“It will be very low-key, family-centric and [won’t involve any] major travel,” an insider shared in Us Weekly’s latest cover story.
Swift, 35, and Kelce, 36, are reportedly planning to split time with their respective families as the Kansas City Chiefs player balances playing games on both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
“Travis fits right in with her family, and Taylor adores [his mom] Donna. They talk all the time,” the source said. “They make sure to see both sides as often as they can. They are super family-oriented, and they have always loved that about one another.”
This holiday season will be the pair’s first after their engagement, which Swift and Kelce announced in August after two years of dating. Kelce popped the question in the backyard of his home, where he and Swift have settled in post-summer traveling.
“With both of their high-profile careers, it feels good to have simplicity and normalcy together,” a source close to the pair exclusively shared in this week’s issue, while a separate insider added, “Taylor and Travis are really chill. On a typical night in, they’re usually having dinner and figuring out what to stream. It’s very domestic and calm.”
While Swift appeared on Kelce and brother Jason’s “New Heights” podcast in August, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end gushed that it’s “been so fun” to see what the singer “actually gets into around the house.” Swift, meanwhile, got candid about her favorite pastimes — which include baking and knitting.
“I’d say all my hobbies could be categorized as, like, hobbies you could have had in the 1700s, you know? Like, I get on my granny s***,” she said. “We’re very deep in a sourdough obsession that has taken over my life.”
That same month, Kelce opened up about his private life with Swift. “Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people,” Kelce told GQ in his August cover story. “When there is not a camera on us, we’re just two people that are in love.”
Amid Kelce’s busy NFL schedule and Swift’s latest album drop — The Life of a Showgirl, which hit airwaves earlier this month — the couple are also taking time to plan their upcoming wedding.
“They are both [very] involved, and Taylor thinks it’s cute that Travis wants to help,” the second source shared.
Kelce and Swift are looking to exchange vows next summer, potentially in Rhode Island — a location where the Eras Tour performer has a summer house, which the pair vacationed at with friends in 2024.
“They don’t want a long engagement,” reveals the source, adding that Swift and Kelce “very much want to start a family in the next year or so. Family means everything to them.”
