Before giving birth to my son last May, I admittedly had very little baby experience. So trust me when I say that the past nine months have been life-changing in more ways than one. I now know what it’s like to consistently operate on minimal sleep, and which products will actually come in handy when caring for an infant. For instance, you probably don’t need a full changing table and a separate changing pad, and (if you formula feed) bottle warmers waste precious time while your infant’s screaming their head off — just get the Brezza!

Amazon’s Baby Sale feels like the perfect opportunity to impart some newfound wisdom as I transition from total newbie to semi-seasoned parent (only three more months until I have a 1-year-old)! With so many items available at a discount — including bodysuits, bouncers, snot suckers, food mixers and more — I’ve rounded up a handful of items that are actually worth ordering. Most of it is stuff I panic-purchased during 3 a.m. feedings, or added to my cart as recently as today (babies always need things). If I were to do it all over again, these picks would be at the top of my registry,  and will likely come in handy for your little one, too.

14 Items Worth Grabbing From Amazon’s Baby Sale, According to a New Mom

1. Outfit Essential: The first few months aren’t terrible when it comes to drool, but once they start teething, oof — their outfits are soaked in a matter of minutes! I love a good bandana bib, which not only absorbs all that extra saliva but adds a fashionable spin to every outfit. This ten-pack delivers a variety of stylish colors — was $23, now $17!

2. The Best Bodysuits: Burt’s Bees makes more than just hydrating lip balms — the same brand is responsible for my favorite baby bodysuits, which come in a pack of five. Made of 100% cotton, these one-pieces are extremely soft and super stretchy, which is extra helpful when your little one is between sizes — was $25, now $18!

3. Grandma-Approved: I don’t know what it is about the older generation, but they’re obsessed with socks on babies! While it’s perfectly fine for your kid’s feet to feel cool to the touch, it’s worth keeping this pack of itty-bitty, cotton crew socks handy. The socks will calm Nonna’s anxiety and, if anything, add a pop of color to your baby’s outfit — was $13, now $8!

4. Naptime Must-Have: If you, like me, haven’t been around many babies, you might ask, “Eh, do I really need the swing?” Yes. Yes, you do. With six different speeds and added vibration, the Graco Simple Sway Baby Swing magically soothes them to sleep during their fussiest moments, allowing you to get something — anything! — done (for at least 30 minutes) — was $150, now $120!

5. Sweet Seat: Months three and four were pretty tough for me, since — gah! — my baby was alert but unable to sit up on his own. Rather than holding him for extended periods (or forcing him to do even more torturous tummy time), we’d slip him into a Baby Delight bouncer, so he could chill by our feet as we cleaned, cooked or caught up on TV — was $100, now $60!

From daily stress to genetics and late-night doomscrolling sessions, under-eye bags surface at the most inconvenient times. Tired of piling on layers to conceal puffiness and dark circles? Beauty Pie has a hard-working eye duo that does all the heavy lifting. Enriched with gentle formulas, this two-piece set combats bags and delivers a refreshed gaze […]

6. Beary Cute: One perk of having a baby is that you get to dress them like a tiny teddy bear. Not only do these Simple Joys by Carter’s cardigans include an option with ears, but they also save you from having to slip yet another layer over their heads. They’re coming in clutch during the current stage, when my baby would rather do a backflip than pop his head through a sweatshirt — was $28, now $18!

7. Magical Masher: After stressing about starting solids, I splurged on a gadget that steams and purees food — but I wish I had grabbed this Grownsy alternative instead, which does the same thing for under $75. Once you steam your fruit or veggies in a basket, you pour them into the blender part, mashing them to mush for your toothless baby. The whole process takes a matter of minutes, and, even better, this top-selling pick is easy to clean — was $80, now $70!

8. Snot Sucker: Will your little one hate getting their nose cleaned? Probably . . . but it’s completely necessary, especially when they’re stuffed up during cold season. MomCozy’s Nasal Aspirator is hospital-grade, meaning it’s super powerful and gets the job done in record time. It’s a must-have if the goal is to keep the screaming to a minimum and your stress level low — was $55, now $44!

9. Baby’s First Shower: Another item I wish I had early on? A tub that actually grows with your baby! Unlike options suitable only for newborns, the First Years Rain Shower Baby Spa Bathtub has a three-in-one design. There’s an insert for infants, but after a few months, the sling can be removed, giving your toddler room to sit and splash around. Perhaps the best part is the handheld showerhead-brush combo, which gently sprays so you can safely rinse off all the soap — was $70, now $56!

10. Skin Saver: Unbeknownst to pre-parenthood me, babies get acne — and it’s pretty tragic when nothing you do resolves the issue. There’s a reason Aquaphor maintains its good reputation. The healing ointment actually works, and is especially helpful when it comes to those little whiteheads, diaper rashes, eczema and other skin irritations. I’m definitely scooping up a three-pack while it’s on sale — was $29, now $19!

11. Sleep Sounds: Yes, I, too, thought I could train my baby to sleep through all sorts of loud noises. But the guy hears me rustle a piece of paper and somehow finds a new burst of energy. If you want your babe to take their much-needed nap, a portable sound machine is key. Crashing waves or repetitive shushing will help them drift off to dreamland. Fair warning: It might make you feel tired, too — was $30, now $18

12. Chic Eats: The thing about baby items is that many of them are made for practicality and not aesthetics. But, whoa — check out this sleek, wooden high chair that looks like it could cost thousands, but is priced at under $100. The best part is that it converts into a toddler chair, and the parts are dishwasher safe. You’ll want to grab one now before it’s sold out — was $90, now $80!

13. Top Toy: Out of all the toys my son owns, a fake remote has to be his favorite. He’s fascinated by the buttons and how it flops around, and also uses it as his daily teether. It’s saved us on car rides, keeping him occupied, and also ensures he won’t, y’know, chew on our actual remote — was $8, now $6!

14. All in One: Sometimes, you don’t know you need something until you really need it. Whether it’s a nail file to trim baby talons or a tiny finger toothbrush to scrub their newly-popped pearly whites, you’ll find it all in this compact kit that contains all the grooming and safety essentials — was $15, now $10!
