Ilana Glazer hasnât always had a skincare routine.
The actress, writer and comedian was 32 when her hit comedy series Broad City ended in 2019, and the newfound freedom in her schedule allowed her to zero in on her holistic practices.
âI started really understanding how important it was to focus on taking care of myself, taking care of my skin, taking care of my teeth, taking care of my hair, taking care of my body,â Glazer tells PEOPLE.
Now, at 37, the star is busier than ever being a mom to a three-year-old daughter, as well as with film projects and a new Hulu stand-up special, Human Magic. Earlier this month, it was also announced that Glazer would make her Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck alongside George Clooney, who co-wrote the play with Grant Heslov, in March.
It was serendipitous when a partnership with Garnier, a longtime favorite brand of Glazerâs, came along. This winter, the brand is expanding its line of fan-favorite micellar waters with a new formula featuring salicylic acid. Designed for sensitive and oily to acne-prone skin, the all-in-one cleanser and makeup remover delivers a 12-hour matte finish to control shine and reduce excess oil without stripping the skin.  Â
âIâm so excited to partner with Garnier for many reasons, but the timing of it really worked for me in my personal life,â Glazer shares. âI genuinely need the most efficient skincare practice that I can possibly have, because the schedule is so consuming.â
After long days of wearing makeup in rehearsals, the actress is after a simple yet effective routine thatâs gentle on her skin.
âMy brain is so fried by the end of the day, that I just want to make sure that I am as healthy, and feeling as beautiful, as I possibly can,â she says. âEvery night Iâm using my Garnier Micellar Water, I am moisturizing. If it can be a ritual, then it really helps me sleep better.â

Glazer calls said ritual her âde-glazing routine,â an intentional play on her name that also pokes fun at at viral skincare trends like âdolphin faceâ and the âglazed donutâ look. In a stand-up routine for Garnierâs campaign, the comedian jokes that the trends are just oily skin with good PR.
In protest of the dozen-step skincare routine, Glazer invites the audience to flip the script on makeup removal and âDe-Glazeâ with her â a process that she likens to removing a bra after a long day.

âNow taking my makeup off is the real getting ready go to out,â she says. âI am getting ready to [snores] go out. Makeup off, white noise machine on.â
Glazer continues, âMy favorite look might just be the de-glazed donut. âA bare surface with tapered edges.â Thatâs how the internet describes a donut that isnât glazed and how I describe my face after 11 p.m.â
Garnier Micellar Water with Salicylic Acid is available now at major retailers nationwide and at GarnierUSA.com.
