Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman feel like a real-life married couple after playing on-screen love interests in their new film, “Song Sung Blue.”
“We only shot for 36 days, but it really does feel like we were married [for] a long time,” Jackman joked to Page Six exclusively at the 2025 Gotham Awards.
Hudson agreed with the sweet sentiment.
“Yeah, we were married a very long time!” she exclaimed.
The “Running Point” star added that the atmosphere on set was satisfying because “it was so easy for us … the work was fun.”
“We enjoyed the experience together. It was like, safe and trusting, and that made it fun,” she said, noting that Jackman — who had been attached to the project before there was a script — fostered a warm atmosphere.
“Song Sung Blue” is based on a documentary about musicians — Mike Sardina aka “Lightning,” played by Jackman and Claire Sardina, aka “Thunder,” played by Hudson — who launched a Neil Diamond tribute band.
The “Almost Famous” star, 46, admitted that before filming she “had no idea” Diamond’s catalogue “was so extensive.”
Jackman, 57, said he’s a huge fan of the “Sweet Caroline” crooner, calling him “one of the greats of all time, and he’s one of the great songwriters.
“If he never stepped on a stage, he’d be an icon, but he’s actually one of the great performers, and that’s not a given, I don’t think.”
The “Les Misérables” star hopes their film will “actually generate a whole new wave of interest in his music.”
Earlier in the evening, Jackman walked the red carpet with his girlfriend, Sutton Foster, 50. They went Instagram-official last month.
“Song Sung Blue” hits theatres on Christmas Day.
