Nigella Lawson is a breath of fresh air on the The Great British Bake Off . As a new judge, she’s bringing her Nigella-isms to the tent, much to the delight of Alison Hammond, Noel Fielding and fellow judge Paul Hollywood. And to me.
The TV chef is not only a star baker herself, but she’s a stylish judge, bringing her imitable style to the Bake Off tent. I’m tuning in as much for Nigella’s outfits as I am the showstoppers, with her chic, tailored looks ranging from denim jumpsuits to three-piece suits worn with classic white sneakers.
As with Alison Hammond’s GBBO outfits, you’d be forgiven for thinking they might be too summery to wear now – the series is filmed in high summer – but I see Nigella’s outfits as the transitional pieces my wardrobe has been missing.
Plenty of her outfits are in stock still, or at the least I’ve been able to track down some incredible lookalikes. Like Alison, Nigella’s a fan of the high street, with her outfits leaning on premium high street brands including ME+EM (also a royal favourite) and Reiss.
Nigella’s GBBO outfits tend to be block colour, ranging from sumptuous purple to fresh mint green. The 66-year-old proves that you don’t need a print to make a statement; just well cut pieces that flatter.

Nigella’s stylists include Elena Garcia on fashion, and makeup artist Tricia Woolston, who often styles Nigella’s hair too. Nigella’s makeup is always the perfect pairing to her outfits, with Nigella’s signature soft, smoky eyes, and glossy lips plus that mane of dark, luscious hair.

Officially one of my favourite Nigella looks possibly ever, Nigella’s denim jumpsuit shot straight to the top of my autumn fashion wish list when I spotted her wearing hers.
Nigella’s is from royal loved brand ME+EM, and only available in a few sizes. I found a similar version at Phase Eight, with similar flared legs and cinched in waist. Plus, it’s on sale for £69.

Biscuit Week saw Nigella reunited with ex-GBBO judge Prue Leith, and honestly I loved her fresh, pastel suit.
Nigella’s styling is what makes this such an accessible look; she’s teamed the Reiss ‘Magda’ Double-Breasted Peal-Lapel Suit with a pair of white sneakers – a great example of how to dress down smart tailoring.
I can’t be certain where Nigella’s trainers are from, but the M&S Cupsole Trainers will give you her look for just £26.

Another stunning example of Nigella’s love affair with a jumpsuit; this is also from ME+EM, and cut just like her denim version but in an eye-catching purple shade.
I love the zip collar and belted waist, so easy to wear and so flattering. Her jumpsuit is hard to replicate, but you could try the Nobody’s Child Cord Flared Jumpsuit which is also in purple.
Nigella’s beauty heroes
Nigella’s MUA hasn’t revealed the exact beauty products she used on the cookbook author, but I’ve turned detective to find out a few of Nigella’s beauty essentials:
- ICONIC London Prep-Set-Glow: “Before leaving the house, I spritz with an unexpected treasure,” she said in an interview last year, referring to the ICONIC London Prep-Set-Glow. “It looks alarmingly wet just after you’ve sprayed it, but shortly subsides to a most alluring non-glittery gleam. I’ve never gone in for setting sprays before, plus I rather thought the lustre of this particular one made it a young person’s product, but my poor old skin comes alive with this radiant finish.”
- Dose By VH Vitamin C Eye Cream: “The clincher is that it really has seemed to make foundation sit so much better under my eyes and, moreover, makes me need less of it,” she said in an interview of the eye cream. “This is crucial as, while you might need more cover-up there as you get older, the sad truth is that the more you pile on, the more it can seem to age you.”
