How Meghan Markle’s ex-husband reacted to her dating Prince Harry: Bethenny Frankel

Bethenny Frankel is spilling the royal tea.

The “Real Housewives of New York City” alum revealed how Meghan Markle’s ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, reacted to the actress’s romance with Prince Harry.

When Frankel met Engelson, he told her “his ex was a woman from a show called ‘Suits,’” the Bravolebrity, 55, told “The Toast” podcast listeners on Wednesday.

“I didn’t know what the show was,” the Skinnygirl creator recalled. “I didn’t know the woman. Months later, I see pictures showing Harry’s dating someone and texted him: ‘Is this your ex?’”

When Engelson confirmed that Markle was the Duke of Sussex’s girlfriend, Frankel asked, “Do you think she’s going to close?”

At the time, the 49-year-old replied, “Oh, she’ll close.”

Frankel reiterated, “I don’t want to get into more about that, but he was like, ‘She’ll close.’”

Engelson was married to Markle from 2011 to 2014, with the “Deal or No Deal” alum moving on with Harry two years post-divorce.

The “With Love, Meghan” star did indeed “close,” as Harry proposed to her in November 2017.

The duo tied the knot in May of the following year.

They welcomed Prince Archie, now 6, months before quitting their royal roles and moving out of England.

After the trio settled in Montecito, Calif., Princess Lilibet, now 4, joined the family.

As for Engelson, he married heiress Tracey Kurland in May 2019 and subsequently welcomed daughter Grace, daughter Sienna and son Logan.

Frankel previously spoke about Engelson, with whom she once went on a date, on Australia’s “Kyle & Jackie O Show.”

During the April 2018 sitdown, she admitted to texting him after Markle and Harry’s engagement to say, “Holy s–t, your ex is going to be a princess!”
