Joseph Duggar is reportedly unnerved after being released on bond following his child molestation arrest.
The disgraced television star is “nervous, anxious and worried” about his future, his attorney, Albert Sauline, told TMZ on Friday.
The lawyer said that Duggar — who pleaded not guilty to charges of molesting a 9-year-old girl — has “good family support,” which is helping him stay in “good spirits.”
He also noted that the alleged heap of conflicting evidence had made it difficult for the defense team to know what is real.
The former “19 Kids and Counting” star, 31, is unaware of what evidence prosecutors have against him as his defense team is not permitted to see the proof until prosecutors file formal charges.
However, according to Sauline, his defense team and Duggar know who the alleged victim is and stand by his not guilty plea.
Joseph — whose older brother, Josh Duggar, is currently serving time for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material — is due back in court on May 18.
On Wednesday, Sauline told AP that his client was released on a $600,000 bond hours after appearing in Florida court and has flown home to Arkansas.
Court documents obtained by the outlet revealed that Judge Brantley Clark barred Joseph from having unsupervised contact with any person under 18.
Sauline said his “number one goal” is to ensure that Joseph “is treated fairly” due to his celebrity status.
The TLC alum was arrested in Arkansas, where he lives, earlier this month before being transferred to Bay County Jail in Panama City, Florida, where the alleged molestation happened.
The “Counting On” alum has been charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving a victim younger than the age of 12, as well as lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person age 18 or older.
The victim told officers in a forensic interview that, in 2020, when she was 9 years old, she was allegedly involved in several incidents with Joseph during a family vacation in Panama City Beach.
She claimed that he allegedly invited her to sit near him on the couch, where he then covered them up with a blanket and touched her genitals. He also allegedly rubbed her thighs.
During the vacation, the alleged molestation later stopped and he apologized.
Joseph, who shares four kids with wife Kendra Duggar, allegedly confessed to the victim’s father before his arrest.
Two days later, unrelated to the alleged molestation, he was also charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of false imprisonment. His wife, 27, was arrested for the same.
Kendra was released later that same day and revealed in a tearful phone call to Duggar that her “babies [were] taken away.”
In a second 20-minute jail call obtained by Page Six, Kendra also praised the Duggar family for their support — despite multiple family members denouncing her husband on social media.
“Your family is a crazy good support network,” she gushed. “They are so supportive of me. I am really well taken care of.”
