Zachery Ty Bryan was arrested for second-degree domestic violence in South Carolina on Wednesday.
Online arrest records show the “Home Improvement” alum, who played Brad Taylor, was taken into custody on Jan. 1 after police found he had gotten into a physical fight at a residence in Myrtle Beach.
A spokesperson for Myrtle Beach Police tells Page Six Friday that the former sitcom star was first brought to a holding cell at their detention center at around 8:32 p.m. ET on New Year’s Day.
Further details about the incident or the name of his alleged victim were not immediately disclosed. WMBF News was the first to report the news.
We’re told that, less than 24 hours after his initial arrest, Bryan was transported to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Jan. 2 at 2 p.m. ET because he could not make bail, which was set at $10,000.
A mugshot obtained by the outlet shows Bryan, 43, disheveled with scratches and red marks on his face.
His rep could not immediately be reached for comment.
The police rep told us Bryan has had a bond hearing but his next court date has not yet been scheduled.
The troubled actor’s latest arrest comes less than three months after he was arrested for driving under the influence in Oklahoma.
Police reportedly found him sleeping in the back seat of his car at the time around 6:47 a.m. local time.
After a brief conversation, he was told he could drive off but reportedly got pulled over shortly after.
Bryan then told police he had been drinking “too much” the night before and said he didn’t “know if he ever stopped” before getting into his car to sleep it off.
The “Magic Island” star appears to be struggling with substance abuse, as he was also arrested for a DUI last February.
Bryan was pulled over in California that time around 2 a.m. PST after officers saw a vehicle they believed had been involved in a collision. The actor was taken into custody after showing signs of impairment.
Bryan’s legal issues stem back more than just a year, however.
In October 2020, he was accused of strangling his then-girlfriend and charged with two counts of menacing, two counts of assault in the fourth degree, coercion, felony strangulation, harassment and interfering with making a report.
A police report obtained by TMZ at the time showed the woman claimed the ex-child star woke up, pulled her by her hair and started beating her while shouting obscenities over missing cell phone chargers.
She alleged Bryan had been abusive to her for a month but it allegedly got worse when he choked her to the point that she thought she would suffocate. She reportedly also claimed he put his knee on her neck.
It does not appear that Bryan has publicly addressed his previous arrests.
