As Holliday’s vast roles have shot her into the spotlight, her living situation has understandably altered over the years in order to fit in with her jam-packed schedule. From her Manchester roots to time spent working in Hollywood, here’s what we know about where the actress has lived over the years.

Holliday Grainger’s early beginnings in Manchester

Originally from Didsbury in Manchester, Grainger lived with her mother in the city until the mid-2010s. She secured her first acting job at just six years old after being introduced to a casting director for All Quiet on the Preston Front through a family friend.

Speaking to Radio Times in 2016, she recalled that she “never thought it would lead to anything”, viewing acting simply as something she enjoyed.

That same year, she moved out of her mother’s home and purchased a house of her own, while also renting a flat in London. She is now understood to be based in the capital with her partner, fellow actor Harry Treadaway.

Holliday Grainger’s move to Hollywood

Like many British actors who have found success on both sides of the Atlantic, Grainger has also spent time living in Hollywood. While filming the 2016 action thriller The Finest Hours opposite Chris Pine, she explained that she was living in Los Angeles while attempting to secure an agent.

During that period, she coincidentally met the film’s director, Craig Gillespie, at a cooking class and was subsequently cast as Miriam. Grainger later split her time between the US and the UK, where she had also secured a role in the 2015 adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover.

Reflecting on the contrast between British and American film sets, she told Radio Times: “The working hours are totally different. In Britain, you work 12- or 13-hour days, while here in America, you can work 18 hours a day.”

She added that during filming for The Finest Hours, shoots would sometimes only wrap when dawn approached.

Where does Holliday Grainger live now?

While Holliday continues to reprise her roles as Rachel Carey in The Capture and Robin Ellacott in Strike, which are both due to land this year, she remains notably private about her personal life.

The actress is reported to be living in north London, though she has never publicly confirmed the location herself, with her partner Harry and their twins, who were born in 2021.

Holliday plays Rebecca Walsh in The Stolen Girl, which lands on ITV1 at 9pm on Wednesday and ITVX.
