Welcome to The Blueprint, where we break down the celebrity looks we want to wear right now and build them back up, piece by piece.
Is this a safe space to Come Clean? I practically mistook Hilary Duff for Jennifer Lawrence.
Why? Well, the two were recently pictured in ’fits that were fairly identical. Over the weekend, the former Disney channel star shared a full-length selfie on her Instagram story in a spring-ready sweater, long skirt, and ballet flats — the same three styles Lawrence just sported in New York City a little over a week prior.
And while I’m not great with numbers, I know that two is the start of a trend. TL;DR: In this instance, I’m fully convinced that Duff and Lawrence’s outfit formulas are poised to become the new go-to uniform—just like jeans, a T-shirt, and sneakers.

Quince Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater
A recent closet cleanout turned wardrobe assessment made me realize that I own too many T-shirts and not enough sweaters. And, I’m not sure why. When it’s boiling hot outside, it’s usually freezing cold indoors — so I always want to keep something cozy to wear on hand. Thankfully, this one is “not thick nor thin” and “is perfect for cool temperatures,” according to one shopper, so it’s good for transitional seasons.
Steve Madden Satin Trumpet Skirt
Duff’s skirt looks like it’s satin or silk. Either is fine by me, since they’re both staple fabrics in my warm-weather wardrobe. They’re literally and figuratively cool to the touch, and they look ultra-elegant. This skirt has a little extra flounce with its trumpet silhouette, so it should feel even more breezy and comfy. Meghan Markle, Katie Holmes, and Angelina Jolie have worn drapey skirts, too.
Rihero Fishnet Ballet Flats
There’s something special about both J.Law and Duff’s ballet flats that you may not have initially noticed. The former’s had T-straps, while the latter’s appeared to be made with crochet-like or studded details (maybe these?). This $31 pair looks so, so breathable, and our shopping director just bought these from Amazon. She never steers us wrong!
Sumrains Woven Tote Bag
It’s hard to tell, but it also seems like Duff had a roomy carryall on her shoulder. I’ll be the first to admit that while it took me years to get on the tote train, I’m never getting off. My sister, J.Law, and Gisele Bündchen have all recently put me on to woven styles like this vegan leather bag that is “butter soft” and made with “impeccable” quality, according to one Amazon shopper. It also comes with a clutch — which is, well, clutch if you ask me — and it’s on sale for a limited time.
