The guardians of the big screen.
Chris Pratt revealed that he and his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger have not allowed their three children to watch a movie yet.
While on Tuesdayâs episode of Today, host Craig Melvin asked the actor if his kids âknow how cool it isâ that Pratt is the voice of âone of the most iconic characters [Mario],â referring to his role in the âSuper Mario Bros.â films.
âMy 5-year-old, my 3-year-old, and my 1-year-old have never seen movies. Katherine is very old-school when it comes to screens and technology and all of that stuff. So, weâre waiting,â Pratt explained about daughters Lyla, 5, and Eloise, 3, and son Ford, 1.Â
However, the âGuardians of the Galaxyâ star has taken his eldest son, Jack, 13, whom he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris, to a screening of the 2023 âSuper Mario Bros Movie.â
âHe thinks itâs pretty cool,â Pratt added.
The âJurassic Worldâ actor knows that at some point, his three little ones will think âtheir dad is really cool.â
âThey havenât realized it yet, but one day. Jack likes me though,â he teased.
Pratt, 46, and Schwarzenegger, 36, tied the knot in 2019, and the â star has been open about their tight-knit relationship.
In February, Pratt opened up about the âlist of directivesâ the couple created before walking down the aisle.
âIf youâre somebody whoâs thinking of getting married, you should definitely follow this,â he said while on the âLiterally! With Rob Loweâ podcast at the time. âThey ask you questions you would not even think to answer until youâve been married for eight years and then something comes up, and youâre like, âWhat do you mean? Thatâs what you think about that?â And then you have to negotiate it then. Like re-negotiating every landmine. It was really great.â
Pratt and Schwarzenegger compiled a âlist of directivesâ that they would include in both their wedding and partnership.
And just last year summer, the âElectric Stateâ star gushed over fatherhood.
While on âToday,â Pratt said he takes a more âsensitiveâ approach to parenting. Â
âMy style is very heavily influenced by how I was raised. I was a very sensitive kid, but my dad was very tough and very strict. So I tend to be a little more mindful of the sensitivity in kids,â he shared. âSo Iâm not as tough and Iâm not as strict.âÂ
Pratt said his wife has a different take on parenting and is âmore of the rule enforcer.â
âWe have a nice balance there,â he said. Â
At the end of the day, the âParks and Recreationâ alum is just happy to show up.
âI think as long as youâre present, you kinda canât go wrong,â Pratt expressed. âYouâre gonna mess up. Youâre not gonna get it right, but you were there, and I think that ends up being important to adults when they grow up and they look back on their childhood, is, âHey, my dad was there, and thatâs a good thing.â â
