It’s high time to blow bubbles and fight crime as Henry Hart — a.k.a. Kid Danger — readies to slip into his superhero suit once again. This time, for Henry Danger The Movie.
PEOPLE exclusively reveals that the all-new original movie, based on the popular live-action series, will soar onto Nickelodeon and Paramount+ on Friday, Jan. 17. Stars Jace Norman (Henry Hart/Kid Danger), Ella Anderson (Piper Hart), Michael D. Cohen (Schwoz) and Frankie Grande (Frankini) return for the feature-length flick alongside new cast member Glee Dango, who plays Missy Martin/Superfan.
Per an official synopsis of the film, directed by Joe Menendez and written by Chris Nowak and Jake Farrow, Henry Hart “meets a superfan—eager to fight crime with Kid Danger—who comes into possession of a device that can open up alternate realities.”
“Facing a wild ride, Henry will need his best friend Jasper (Sean Ryan Fox) and his new superfan sidekick to find his way out or be stuck in another dimension forever.”
In PEOPLE’s first look at the Henry Danger The Movie, for which Norman serves as executive producer along with Menendez, Nowak and Farrow, the teaser trailer opens with shattered glass flying about as flashbacks from the beloved Nickelodeon series flash all around.
A now grown-up Kid Danger emerges from behind the glass, noting that he’s “not a sidekick anymore” to Captain Man. “I’m a hero,” the character says in a voiceover, as he stands stoically in his superhero attire.
Now speaking aloud, Kid Danger (a.k.a, Henry Hart) then says: “It’s time to face my destiny.”
From there, Henry’s best friend Jasper (Fox) appears alongside him to hilariously remark on his changed appearance. “It’s time for my face to have a mustache,” he says, noting that he is not Jasper but “Captain Stache.” Jasper even requests that his pal “get my name right” before Henry gives him a look and uses his fist to push him away.
The teaser also provides glimpses of the action-packed moments to come, with a voiceover noting that “it’s Danger like you’ve never seen before.”
Among those excited for the new film is one of the show’s original stars, Frankie Grande.
“Bringing Frankini back has been an absolute dream come true! I am beyond excited for everyone to see him in all his glory—dancing, singing, but also, revealing a much darker side of Frankini that hasn’t been seen before,” he tells PEOPLE.
“This project has been one of the most thrilling experiences of my career, and I can’t wait for the world to experience the chaos, the charm, and the unexpected twists,” Grande, 41, concludes. “It’s truly a wild ride, and I’m so proud to finally share it with everyone!”
Henry Danger ran on Nickelodeon for five seasons from July 2014 to March 2020. The series followed Norman’s Henry Hart, whom superhero Captain Man (Cooper Barnes) selected as his apprentice. Henry then navigates the challenges of high school and his secret life as a crime fighter.
Norman, now 24, previously told PEOPLE in 2018 that Henry Danger and Nickelodeon will always remain a part of him.
“I can remember my childhood and how much those shows resonated with me when I was a kid, so the fact that I’ll be a part of so many kid’s childhood memories blows my mind,” he shared. “That’s the most rewarding part of it.”
