Listen up, TV and film lovers! HBO Max, the streaming platform from Warner Bros. Discovery, has finally confirmed its UK launch date – meaning that much-anticipated TV and film titles like The Pitt, Harry Potter and One Battle After Another will be available to stream in the UK and Ireland for the first time.
The streaming service, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, will officially launch on Thursday 26 March, arriving six years after its debut in the US. The platform will combine content from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, DC Studios and Max Originals, alongside live sport via TNT Sports in the UK.

What TV shows are on HBO Max?
While many viewers, myself included, have watched the huge success of The Pitt take off across the pond, the medical drama will be available to binge for the first time in the UK and Ireland. Episodes of the latest second season will also be released weekly.
Meanwhile, the streamer will also become the home of original HBO Max shows like the Harry Potter series (expected in 2027) and Lanterns, which is an adaptation of the DC blockbuster movie starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.
Other original series include DTF St. Louis, starring David Harbour and Jason Bateman, Rooster, starring Steve Carell, and The Comeback, starring Lisa Kudrow.
From the launch date, Zendaya’s hit drama Euphoria will only be available to watch on HBO Max, while beloved shows like Succession, Game of Thrones, Friends and The Sopranos will also be available. This explains why some shows, like Friends, were removed from other platforms earlier this year.
What movies are on HBO Max?
The new streamer will also offer a slate of movie titles, including the Oscar-nominated blockbusters One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan.
Major franchises are also expected to be available, including Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Dune: Part One, Superman and A Minecraft Movie.
What has Warner Bros. said about the UK launch?
Commenting on the launch, Warner Bros. Discovery UK & Ireland president and managing director Andrew Georgiou said: “Launching HBO Max in the UK & Ireland marks a significant moment for viewers here.
“HBO Max will offer them their most loved series and movies from HBO, Warner Bros. and DC Studios, alongside premium sports from TNT Sports in the UK, within an outstanding single destination for this great content and strong value proposition.
“Nowhere else will you be able to get The Pitt, House of the Dragon, Euphoria, Lanterns, Superman, One Battle After Another, as well as the eagerly awaited Harry Potter series, all together.”
